Is anyone still watching The Office? This is the last season so Jon and I committed to watching it. When they introduced the plotline that Jim would be traveling for work, leaving Pam as a spouse working full-time and caring for the kids, I thought THIS IS MY JAM! I'd love to see my life in a comedy, where they find the humor in these situations.
The lice episode? Jon and I watched that together and it was like a scene from our life. Pam, disheveled and exhausted, dealing with lice. Laura, disheveled and exhausted, unclogging toilets. Jim, playing on private courts with NBA stars. Jon, dining with friends at a cheese restaurant in Madrid. THIS IS MY JAM!
And now??????? Pam appears to have a not-platonic relationship with the camera guy???? No no NOOOOO. You know what they do not understand here? That after 2 hours in the morning taking care of kids, 9 hours of work, 3 more hours of kid care, at least another hour of chores/errands, time on the phone with friends and Jon, working out, and maybe doing something for myself, THE LAST THING I need is one more thing that needs attention.
Traveling spouse + job + kids + AFFAIR?

SO ANGRY AT THEM. They are bastardizing one of the great sitcom romances of all time. I am hoping it is more of a "she needed a shoulder to bitch at" and he fell for her but it seems not.
All that said, that guy is pretty hot.
No kidding. Now, if she was locking herself in her closet with wine and chocolate, that would be believable.
Oh, no! I've been in and out this season, and noticed they were getting friendly, but I didn't see last weeks. That's awful! Jim and Pam were such a great TV romance. And I also agree that no one in her situation has time for an affair.
I don't watch the show, but I agree with what you are saying. As a new mom of four I feel like that about a lot of things... Eating, sleeping, exercising, showering... I'm trying to make time for the essentials and I sometimes fail at those.
Just had to say that this cracked me up!
totally agree. very disappointed in the turn of events. For someone that has stuck with the show after Steve Carell left this is totally not cool.
I was hoping it was an emotional affair at absolute most. Hopefully they will get things patched up before the end of the show. I can't imagine single parenting it full time and having the time for anything.
LMAO. I have not been watching The Office, no. But I totally agree. Who has the energy for that kind of nonsense and carryin'-on? I barely have the energy for it with the man I'm married to. And I LOVE how you incorporated Sweet Brown into your post. I try to refer to Sweet Brown at least once every day. In fact, I used that winning phrase just this morning when talking to a co-worker about some BS extra work our bosses are making us do. Ain't NOBODY got time for that. Forreals.
Matthew and I raged over this too. As if all good marriages are just one step away from an affair, SO not true!
Hahahahaha...I just love the way you ended this post...
Oh. NO, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!!! (gasp, wheeze) NO, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!!!
(and yet, that was a pretty damn funny way to end a post)
This plot has caused a lot of disagreement between Jason and me. I think Jim is being such a jerk that the affair is a reasonable way for Pam to feel better. Basically, I think it's taking a boring part of the show and adding a little drama. Jason thinks they are totally ruining the characters and the show. I've never been a Pam/Jim fan so I think I'm okay with it. Plus, I think it's really funny to make the cameraman a character after all these years. I'm much more upset about the stupid way Andy is acting.
Yes! Jim & Pam's romance is one of the very best things about The Office, and I HATE that they are doing this story line. We are also committed to seeing the show through - and I am ready for it to be over. So disappointing.
SERIOUSLY!!! You nailed it. Freaking hysterical!
There are certainly showing a different side of Jim & Pam and their relationship. They've always been portrayed as this perfect couple that never fought, and Pam's been perfect, Jim's been perfect..... but now with the stresses of being apart, suddenly Jim turns into a jerk and Pam is looking for a little more emotional support. Wha???? I wonder how they are going to tie all this up at the end, if this is the last season.
OMG I love that lady you put at the end. I really want a Staples button (you know "Easy") that says her line so I can press it when someone comes in my office and demands something. I even searched online to see if I could get instructions on how to rig it but couldn't find it.
Also, my pet peeve on affairs for TV: 1. Do you really have that many attractive people at your job? I might be able to count 5 at mine. Maybe. 2. It is not that hard to be faithful - I would think it is much, much harder to cheat. All that coordination? Do you know how much shit I have to coordinate for my job and kids already? [I ain't got no time for that!]
Glad I gave up on the Office two seasons ago after Steve Carrell left.
