All of these things have to be labeled, and we love Mabel's Labels:
At the beginning of kindergarten, I bought a Big Kaboodle combo pack for each boy. They are pretty pricy but we've been using them for 18 months and still have a very large supply. We keep them in our junk drawer downstairs and whenever something new is sent to camp (or school), we slap a label on it.
To me, what really sets them apart is their ability to stick to fabric and not come off in the laundry. One boy (let's call him "N") left his swimsuit at the big YMCA last summer. The lost and found had hundreds of swimsuits, mostly from Old Navy. I found four sets exactly like N's and was able to identify his by the labels on the tags.
(Reusable snack bags by The Umbrella Girl. Lunch box from Lands End, which fits the Pottery Barn Kids bentos perfectly.)
(No compensation for this post, we just really really love those labels.)

They stick to Fabric even through the laundry? Sweet! I wish I had these back in daycare days.
This was a ridiculously helpful post, you have no idea.
Thanks.
We've been using these for a couple of years as well. Awesome. I use the tag mates ones that are for clothes on everything. They stay on in the dishwasher too.
I just put our last name on our labels, then they are good for hand-me-downs and random lunch containers and water bottles. And adult things like the thumb drives I occasionally give to people with photos on them - but I want them back!
Another Mabel's Labels lover. They last forever! I tried another brand last time we ran out and was disappointed - I won't stray again. I like the idea of getting some with just the last name - I'll do that next time I need to order.
I think these especially look nice with those 8 letter names. My poor kids would need theirs in extra teeny font to fit their names.
I started using Mabel's when M&J went to day care at 5 months. I love, love love them!
ooh, we'll try these next time. I got our from namebubbles.com but we're running out and I like the look of yours better.
Also LOVE our bags from Umbrella Girl. Esp. for Montessori preschool, where T is expected to be able to open everything herself.
