There is no doubt that my photography has grown in every direction the last few years, but where I want it to head needs a lot of work. A lot of shoot time in every day moments. A lot of editing work. A lot of time shooting for myself.
The fifth time, I have a plan and I have a vision. Capturing our life, not just the posed happy moments. Our life includes Angry Birds and lazy TV watching on rainy days.
Our life includes boys who suddenly care how their hair looks.
The fifth time, I have a bigger arsenal and experience. A camera that can take photos in most lighting. Flash work. Macro perspective. Better understanding of light. I finally feel ready to tackle my least favorite season - winter - with both my camera and a light therapy lamp. I'm a different photographer than the previous four attempts.
I don't plan to share them all here, but for the first time, I feel like this is the right path to get to where I want to be. The first four times, it felt like a goal I *should* want to accomplish. The fifth time, I can't wait to see where the next 365 days take me.

Oh, I think I'm going to like this year of photos. Boys being boys, macro photos (LOVED THE EYELASHES!), black and white winter photos. It's going to be fun.
Is that an iPhone 5 that Jon is playing on?
Heh, even your behind-the-scenes-at-the-Case-residence photos are great. :) I hope this is the year it sticks, and that we get to see even more pictures!
This challenge seems like it was made for you! I can't imagine your photography getting any better than it already is, but I'm looking forward to seeing some of the results!
I love when a goal really feels right!
Like you, I keep feeling like a 365 project is something I should do, but I know I'd never make it. Someday!
You're a braver woman than I am. It about killed me a few years ago (I think it was 2010).
I love your photos!
PS are you on instagram? what's your handle?
Love it and these photos are awesome. I also have one who cares about his hair AND wears cologne! To kindergarten! Kids, so funny.
Good luck with this challenge! I (mostly) did it last year, less as a photography skill challenge and more as a habit-builder. I have to say, I think I skipped fewer than five days the whole year, so I'll take it as a win.
Anyways, you know I love seeing every single one of your photos, so post as many as you can find excuses for! :-)
The b&w photo of the woods made my heart skip a beat -- beautiful! I hope the 365 project sticks for you. I keep thinking I'll do it, but then another January 1st passes and I remember that I don't even own a decent camera . . .
As always I love all the pics. The thing that stood out the most was, Go Golden Gophers! I'm not sure what that says about me...
that is awesome Laura - love the line about being a different photographer this time!
