2nd summer = Summer of Fishing Unsteady Toddlers Off the Bottom of the Baby Pool
3rd summer = Summer of Stopping The Boys From Jumping Off the Side of the Baby Pool and Cracking Their Heads Open (VIDEO! of 2 year old twins! and another video!)
4th summer = Summer of Pooping At the Pool (the boys pooped in swim diapers at almost every visit as we potty trained them)
5th summer = Summer the Boys Learned to Swim and Became Fearless in Water
6th summer = Summer of Jon and Laura Reaping the Rewards and Enjoying Cocktails Poolside While the Boys Exhausted Themselves Swimming All Day
That leads to this year's 2012 summer theme, the 7th summer:
Summer of Nate and Alex Knowing and Playing with All the Neighborhood Kids, then Showering By Themselves and Putting Away Wet Suits and Towels When We Get Home.
Part of my ongoing series, "Twin Parents, It Gets Better."

Oh, I envy you the boys' ability to shower themselves. With their long hair, my girls still need help. Twin parenting really does get better and better, doesn't it?
Yeah--now you're just bragging. ;-) Happy summer!!!
Reading about how it gets better keeps me going. Not that I have any choice, of course, but you know what I mean!
Such a cute picture. I'm looking forward to many cute pool pictures this summer. And beach pictures too.
Oooh, this is a good summer theme! But you had me at the 6th summer...is it wrong to be fantasizing about not having to hover over my children and having cocktails by the pool before my twins are even born?
Holy hell, I totally forgot about your It Gets Better post. A year later, it's still a lot of crying, just louder.
So I'll have to hope that our summers begin to look like yours!
Happiness is in the small things! The showering at the pool thing sucks so hard with two wet kids going in all directions and fishing for three sets of clothes (theirs and mine) in a wet tote, dressing wet kids and combing very long and curly wet hair. I am tired already.
I am waiting for my girls to learn to swim and become fearless so we can go down the big slider and jump the trampoline together! And then of course I will go enjoy something by the pool, which sadly won`t be cocktails because our pool bar is a flop. This will be our 4th summer and thankfully there will never be any pool pooping for us, you sure earned some mileage into heaven for that.
Ahhhhh.....
NIce! I'm terrified we'll get a risk-taking crazy kid for #2 because I have no idea what to do with that. :)
Michael now showers by himself and I must say that it's heavenly. With both kids potty trained this summer, I am looking forward to a bit of relaxation poolside.
Love it!!! We're on Summer 4 of twin boys! Glad to know it gets better!!!!
I'm hanging on to every word! We're at summer #3 and it's getting better for sure. I can leave the house, which I couldn't handle year one, so there's that.
