After some time the first evening in the water parks, we went for a sunset walk on the beach. There were so many seagulls it was like we were in the scene of The Birds. The boys exhausted themselves chasing birds and practicing kicks at them. (Please also note the seagulls ate the washed up jellyfish, shown in photo.)

We spent a good amount of time at the beach all weekend. (One of my favorite parts about weekend trips to the beach is that I bring my point and shoot and just capture snapshots. Less stress on everyone!)

There was the usual castle and pool building.

There were also other antics, new to this beach trip.

There was also classic burying of children. Please note Nate wanted to be in a ton of photos so he could make a photo album to take to camp to show his favorite counselor. WIN!

There was also a LOT of coquina catching and releasing. I can not tell you how much my heart swells that my boys get to do a beach activity that I did as a child.

There was also cocktail drinking and hot dog eating and movies in our room and everything else we all love. However one of the highlights of Dunes Village was the indoor water parks. They were too wet to bring my point and shoot into but they had water slides, pools, hot tubs, splash pads, and of course multiple lazy rivers.

Alex *may* have brought a lazy river toy into the basketball pool.

Jon and I came back from the beach wishing we could spend more time there since it is our entire family's happy place.

Until we figure out how to achieve that dream, we will just have to suck the marrow out of every second at the beach when we are there.

I love, love, love your pics, esp because they're with a p&s :)
It don't get much better than this.
Great trip recap. Like the shadow as a family photo.
Welcome back! The sand on Nate's chest makes him look like he has chest hair. Bahaha.
Love all of it.
You guys have a great life. I did laugh a little noting that when John took his photo of you and the boys his shadow was in the way and you made sure the one you took did not have one. Did you give him crap for that? :)
Looks like a wonderful trip full of memories! Love your captures!!
so glad you enjoyed Dunes Village. They have so many things to offer for the kids, it's a great place to stay so you are guaranteed something to do even if it rains!
Sounds like an amazing place to stay and yes, I love the shadow family picture along with all the others that captured the memories of your trip.
