They had tons of activities for kids, including rides, bounce houses, and sidewalk chalk.

We also went to this really gorgeous park with an incredible playground.

It had a train running through the park and all 9 of us crammed into the caboose together.

Alex was mostly happy to go desert "hiking" which included climbing on rocks.

While there, I also did family photos for my sister.

Highlights of those photos will be on my photography blog today, but I did want to say that this trip really inspired me to travel to take photos. So if you've been thinking about wanting me to shoot your family but you don't live in the Triangle area, 2012 might be your year!

Dude--I was disappointed to see that DC was NOT on your spring track out! Have you SEEN the cherry blossoms??? Like manna from heaven for photographers!!! 2013, okay? First week of April. I'm booking early!
Beautiful!
The Cherry Blossoms in DC really are amazing!
I like the way we are all now going to convince you why you have to visit us. Beth has cherry blossoms but if Alex likes desert hiking, may I suggest rock scrambling up in Joshua Tree National Park. And did I mention it is a photographer's dream location? One day girl, one day.
Yay! I often lurk around here, but I just had to speak up when you threatened to take your talent on the road! I second the plug for a DC area visit!! AND, I'm expecting twins in June, so Beth's suggestion of an April 2013 trip means I would have time to look...not quite so pregnant with twins.
You sisters oldest daughter is such a beauty! I wish I looked that good when I had a mouth full of braces!
And are you still planning a fall DC trip?? There might not be cherry blossoms, but there will be all kinds of blog friends to hang out with! And cutie-patootie kids. And cocktails!!!
Hmm... what does Dallas have? Not much but ME!
Love the sharpness of your photos, and love the perspective of the top one of Nate.
GORGEOUS! I can't wait!
Uh, Julia thinks she gets to meet Nate & Alex...
The Liberty Bell! Valley Forge! Tyler State Park! Philly in the house!!
