Roxane got to witness the 9th Annual Gingerbread House smashing. We had planned to do it over NYE weekend but Jon and I were too sick.

(My timing is getting better and better each year. SMASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

The 9th Annual Smash brought the first injury. After the smash, Alex grabbed the rubber mallet from Nate's hands and hit Nate in the mouth. There was blood. It was not pretty. It sucks having two kids who are afraid of blood, because then we have to lie to them and tell them there is no blood or else they FREAK OUT.

Roxane watched the kids so we could go out and took them to a museum and helped them paint and put them to bed and took them to Krispy Kreme and bought them gifts. Basically again making us wish she lived closer. Thanks again for another fantastic visit Roxane!

I love Nate's boots! So cute. And, the sunglasses as protective eye wear is a great idea. So much cooler than goggles.
But best of all, YAY FOR GRANDMAS!
Still not sure how you lie to a kid about there being blood. How exactly do you hide it? "No, no, that's not blood it's um...Jello?
Sorry Nate got hurt, but that looks like an awesome tradition!!!!
So fun!
9 years? Did you do this before the twins were even born? Nate's boots are super cool, love the sunglasses. Glad there were no shots of the blood. ha ha
nice action shots!! TJ also really dislikes blood, so even tiny cuts freak him out. Hopefully T didn't inherit that ;)
also, I tagged you for one of those blog chain letter things. See mine for details ;) No worries if you don't do it. I'm only marginally playing by the rules.
