This is the first week back at school after 5 weeks off for the boys. Alex has noticeably more energy every day with so little activity during the day, so we've been taking him out for morning walks before school. This morning I took him to our neighborhood playground.
Laura: Check the slides to see if they're wet before you go down them.
Alex: They are wet!
He then proceeded to slide down, head first,on his belly, completely drenching his winter coat and the entire front of his pants.

I wish Michael's school started late enough that we could go to the playground before school!
You said check to see if they're wet, not don't go down if they're wet. He did exactly what you said. Geez.
Yes, yes they are. I actually commented to Michael's teacher that having a kid highlights just how many seemingly obvious things there are that turn out to not be all that obvious after all.
I'm not even going to describe what Michael did last night to prove this concept. I assure you, it was so gross that even I won't write about it.
Um, yeah. What Maria said. Duh! "Literally" definitely takes on a whole new meaning with kids!
Haha! I took the kids outside for the first time yesterday since all our snow finally melted and it was warm-ish. Elijah headed straight for the remaining snow and walked all through it in his tennis shoes. And Sophia? Well, she just bolted down the driveway and tried to run out in the road. Sigh.
Hah! Yes, I was just thinking this the other day, but I can't remember what it was. I now choose my words VERY carefully. In T's case, though I can't expect much because there are so many new words she's unfamiliar with.
So, so many times I think to myself with regard to my five-year-old, "Don't you have any common sense?"
