A Christmas wish list conversation

Laura: "What are you going to ask Santa to bring you for Christmas?"

Nate: "I'm going to ask for the Lego Death Star!"

Laura: "Nate, that is way too expensive for Santa to make. It is $400. If Santa has to pay $400 for his elves to build it, then he won't have enough money for other kids to get toys."

Nate: "Okay, instead I'll ask Santa for $1000. Then I could get two Death Stars, one for me and one for Alex, and still have money left to get toys for other kids."

Yay for allowance to help teach them the value of money, boo for maybe teaching them to dream a little too big.

(Elfie redecorated the entire tree to surround himself with ornaments!)

Is it really possible to dream too big?

Ha! I agree with Joanna, can't dream too big. A few days ago I took the girls to the mall. Kendall sat on Santa's lap and told him what she wanted. When she was finished I asked her what she told him... She said, "An electric blanket, a cold pillow (she constantly flips hers to the "cold side") and oh man! I forgot to tell him that I want a massage chair!" This child scares me. If she's like this at 5 years old what is she going to be like in high school?

Very funny.

So, I have total elf envy! I usually don't crave most Christmas traditions, but with your photos every day I'm totally wishing there was a Chanukah elf!

My one kid wants Santa to bring him cheese. We went to see Santa and get the photo and all day he was sup excited and the totally freaked out for the photo. And every single time we ask what he wants Santa to bring? Cheese. Oh, to be two.
