Stella and Dot party!

I got a lot of emails about my outfit from our family shoot, in particular my necklace. Here is a closer photo of it (photo by Natalie Jill Photography):

The necklace is by Stella and Dot. I borrowed it from my friend Kim who is a stylist for them. It also comes in a brown bead style, which I bought for myself in my effort to de-slobify. It sounds crazy but it's only recently that I've discovered how much a necklace can dress up a simple outfit.

I had no idea a jewelry party would be so much fun. Having ZERO fashion sense, it was great to try things on and get objective advice on how things looked.

For the next week, I am hosting an online trunk show. If you'd like to check out their items (hello Christmas/Hannukah/winter solstice presents!) here is my online trunk show. When you check out, just choose my name!

You look awesome in the pictures! It's so funny what you said about the necklaces because I just discovered the exact thing last month. As an academic I'm used to dressing quite casually on days I don't teach (2-3 days a week). But I started a new position last month where I have more meetings, and even when I don't, emergencies can pop up. So, I feel I can't be super casual. But, I love wearing t-shirts. Enter the necklace and voila -- comfortable and dressy enough. I will check out the trunk show for sure.

OK, this is random but: Don't you love how little kids press their little fingers into your neck when giving you a hug? Alex looks here like he will NEVER let go of his Mommy. That chubby little squeeze they do is so sweet because it's so genuine. When they hug, they really mean it. Awwww....

It totally works (see: TB necklace I wear nearly every day with a t-shirt.) My sister threw a combined Sell-Your-Gold/Stella and Dot party. I earned $300 in one room, and turned around to spend it in the other. It was awesome.

I love Stella and Dot, their stuff is so nice and relatively decently priced.
