You say good-bye, I say hello

One thing I've learned as a (forever rookie) parent is that when you say good-bye to something, you always say hello to something else.

Good-bye bottles! No more making and washing 16 bottles a day!
Um... hello, sippy cups.

Good-bye immobile babies crying because they are bored!
Um... hello, mobile toddlers into everything.

Good-bye diapers!
Um... hello, pee on my bathroom floor.

So I've learned this lesson right? I've learned it over and over in the last 5.5 years. So why what this a surprise to me:

Good-bye dressing kids now that they are old enough to consistently dress themselves to the correct temperature.
Um... hello, daily check to make sure they are not going to school COMMANDO.

Omygosh, so funny! I just told Matthew today I'm about to revoke Elijah's right to dress himself as long as he insists on wearing long sleeves with shorts. UGH!

LOL! I'm going to send this post to my SIL who lives near you :)

And I'm saying goodbye to bottles next week and pump parts so sippy cups will be a piece of cake for 1 kid.

Same problem here! JTC now sleeps commando, so he "forgets" to add that particular item of clothing, even though I set it out for him.

Seriously that is hilarious. Your blog is my guide to what to watch for as my boys get older. I am your padawan, oh wise Jedi twin-mom-of-boys.

This made me laugh out loud!! We're about to enter the potty training stage with our twin boys so now I know what to "look forward to". You have such a fantastic sense of humor - I always look forward to your posts!

Ha! My sister's son who started the 4th grade this year still tries to get away with free ballin' it. Boys, you gotta love 'em.

Hey, it could mean less laundry ;)

So hilarious - and perfect timing! We just found out one of my twins (who were born the same day as yours were, exactly one year later) went to preschool commando today. We will now be checking before leaving the house!

And to think, I was getting ready to start pushing the dress yourself thing. I guess it's not as bad as I thought.
