Nate and Alex have been very excited this week because their classroom schedules changed and they have recess at the same time. At dinner they were talking about some race that Alex wins or almost wins every day. There was a lot of convoluted conversation to understand why/how/when/where they were racing and here's the outcome.
Every day at recess, as soon as the outside doors open, a pack of boys from Alex's class busts out the door and runs an entire lap around the big field while the rest of the two classrooms cheer them on.
Can you just see that in your mind's eye? A wild pack of 5 year old boys running out the door like they're on fire while a crowd of 5 year olds scream their names?
I had the giggles all night over this mental image.

Such big differences between boys and girls! (and I hope I don't get into trouble for saying that! My girls run to each other at recess for a big hug first thing before starting to play.
Love the image of all those full-of-energy five-year-old boys running around and cheering!
Nathan has been talking about how him and the boys race at recess, too! Hopefully they burn off all their excess energy so they crash at night for bed time!
I can picture it, and it's awesome. I can also picture the tension leaving the teacher's shoulders as they head out the door.
ha! I love how everyone else cheers. Such a group effort!
Awesome, I totally agree with Joanna's comment. If I were the teacher, I'd all but chase them out of the room myself. RUN, BOYS, RUN!
That is so awesome. And love that he is out front!
