I decided not to bring the big camera, so it was a great exercise using only a point and shoot. I didn't even use any fancy functions, I just set it to Program mode and clicked clicked clicked.

We all had a blast at the Redneck Riviera. We all loved the beach. Jon and I enjoyed poolside cocktails. People shot off South Carolina fireworks right outside our window. The boys got to see karoake for the first time. It gives me such hope for our beach vacation in September.

Of course there was tons of swimming and the boys are even braver this year. Nate has decided he will real surf at our beach trip. I kind of believe him.

The only time I was slightly disappointed in the good old Canon Powershot G12 was at sunset.... Nate and Alex look slightly oompa-loompaish. Also yes, they still fit into their swimsuits from last year.

By far, one of the best parts of the Redneck Riviera is the people watching. Oh the people watching. If I had to sum up my feelings on my whole skin cancer scare into a picture, it would be this one and the caption would be "Why do I have to be the one worried about skin cancer when people like this do not worry in the least????"

Seriously there is such a variety of people at these beaches. I love it. In this shot, suburban dad (Jon), dreadlock stoner, and couple getting married. And... this is why Jon and I did NOT get married on a beach.

Everyone was sad to return home and Alex summed it up best when he said, "We should move to the beach. We should buy a house and go to the beach every day." My sentiments exactly.

That first picture gave me chills. Scared of heights!
Dreadlocks dad makes a great backdrop!
our sentiments exactly about the beach wedding, we have seen 2 this summer while we enjoyed our cocktails and chased a 2 year old. Holden also believes we should move to the beach as a family, I think the kids have the right idea.
"As bad day at the beach is still better than a good day at work." That's my family's motto. Alex and my dad would get along great.
Are those Alex's toes on the left?
That first picture is SCARY!!! Put me on the 2nd floor any day!
You guys seem to have so much fun. Can I be adopted by the Cases? Thanks.
That lazy river does look fantastic. I think the stoner dad and suburban dad make a perfect backdrop for your beach wedding photos. Glad you had fun!
That is an incredibly cool picture of the pool. Now I understand the Myrtle Beach lure.
Kindergarten tomorrow!!
Yay yay yay. I'm so glad you had such a fun weekend. And some really nice shots with the point & shoot! Goes to show you really do have a great eye, not just a fancy camera. (Not that I had any doubt, but I think you know what I mean...)
Minus the dog drama, I felt similarly about being at the lake. It got me daydreaming about a vacation house someday and spending the whole summer there.
I hope the boys have a wonderful first day. I loved Kindergarden for so many reasons. You certainly start early where you live.
Good luck tomorrow!
Yay for the beach! And wow--kindergarten TOMORROW? Ack! Can't wait to read all about it and see their first-day outfits. You're paving the way!
Can't wait to hear how the first day of kinder goes. Especially for mama.
