- Every dancer is super amazingly talented.
- The variety of choreography means you may learn you like a style of dance you've never seen before.
- The costumes, music, lighting. WOW. They do an amazing job with the production of the show.
But what I like best about her is the short hair. I feel it sums her up perfectly. It takes an amazing amount of confidence to rock short hair as a woman. I feel like her short hair says - this is who I am. You can feel her realness in every interview, every dance, and every movement.
That's what I want for my boys. I want them to feel comfortable being themselves, and have confidence that who they are is beautiful.
Normally I would link my favorite dance of hers but I seriously love every single thing she's done this season, even things I normally think are boring (waltz). Instead I will link to all of her SYTYCD videos.
And I am most definitely going to the tour this year. Not sure which city (probably Charlotte) but I'm buying tickets tomorrow, who's in???

I've been trying to catch episodes of this on Hulu just because all the hype from my tweeps this year! Anyway, when I watched the very first episode I LOVED her so much! For the same reason as you, I also love her short hair. I want her to win!!
a close girlfriend of mine is crazy about SYTYCD also. She has gone to the tour show every year here in Charlotte.
I love her, too! It's the first time my husband and I aren't rooting for the same person--he's a Sasha fan. I like Sasha, too, but Melanie is just has that certain something that I think is lovely to watch, always. I like Marco quite a bit as well...
Her dance with Neil last night? OH MY GOD. That leap? Was insane! That leap takes so much athleticism and confidence and trust.
I keep thinking she has this wrapped up but then every dance last night was amazing. I'm trying to convince one of my friends to buy tickets tomorrow too. I need to see this tour!
I've been behind all season but have never fast forwarded Melanie and Marko. Man they had chemistry. I almost kinda miss them being paired now they they are soloing.
I really think Melanie is going to walk away the winner. Every genre she is a natural. She's the judges favorite PLUS who doesn't love a spunky girl?
Keep you paws off Melanie, she is mine.
You know I went to see the tour a few years ago (the year that Sabra won, so some AMAZING dancers). I actually ended up liking the TV version a little better than the live one. A couple of reasons: they dance the same routines that they danced on the show (maybe this has changed since then), which was good and bad. The majority of the audience was 6-12-year-old girls with their parents. I sat pretty close and it was still too far to really see well (I saw them at a basketball stadium and sat on the floor). It was still SUPER fun, but not as awesome as I thought it would be. That said, let me know when you want to go see the finale live: I WILL go with you!
I agree with every single thing in this post (except maybe the lighting - sometimes I think it's way too dark). I adore Melanie. She's so graceful and sweet, but also so strong. She exudes confidence. LOVE LOVE LOVE her. Might have to find out when SYTYCD is coming to Boston...
I was thinking Melanie looks a lot like you! I guess it is the hair. You both rock the short hair!
I was so going to invite you here (I know as if but still) and then I just checked and the tour isn't coming here this year. Boo. I love love love this show. I also think Melanie is awesome but so many are awesome this year it's hard to decide. Wish I had friends nearby to watch with! SYTYCD finale party would be excellent.
I am a huge fan of SYTUCD too! I am 38 years old and cannot get enough of the show. It takes my breath away every Wed night. I can't bare to watch the Canadian version. {The host is no Cat Deeley!} There is no comparion of the US vs. Canadian series. ps. I was annoyed by special judge Lady Gaga's glasses pinching the end of her nose and effecting her voice. :-) Enjoy watching the rest of the season!
