October 5, 2005, post #1, We're having a baby!

Well, we were completely surprised (and thrilled!) by a positive pregnancy test this morning. I sat there staring at the test for a long time thinking it had to be wrong. I showed Jon, who was incredibly excited and happy.

March 7, 2011, post #1500, Life's a Beach

We have completely wild (and wonderful) twin four year old boys who love the beach as much as we do but are incapable of being cooperative photo subjects.

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

Exhibit C, in which you can also see the silken white sand of Siesta:

Exhibit D:

Exhibit E, part 1:

Exhibit E, part 2:

Exhibit F, disturbing the wildlife:

1500 posts ago, I didn't know it was twins.

1500 posts ago, I didn't know I'd still be writing here as my boys prepare to turn 5.

1500 posts ago, I never knew my passion for telling stories... both with and without pictures... would continue in this space.

1500 posts ago, I didn't know I'd be at this point in my parenting journey, in my photography journey, in my life.

1500 posts, 5.5 years, and two boys later, I wouldn't change a single moment. The only thing I'd change would be to slow down time because the best years of my life are going too quickly.

Thank you to every single one of you along for the ride.
More pictures and stories tomorrow, of course.
And y'all best comment, hello 1500 posts and beach pictures!!!

First! Haha. Anyway, those pictures are awfully cute for two boys who you claim were not being cooperative. And the family one is really good too. Congrats to 1500 posts and all that came with it. It has been one wild ride and I am glad I can tag along.

That beach is almost as beautiful as the two boys on it! Where are you guys?

FIFTEEN HUNDRED? Holy crap, that's a lot of posts. But isn't it amazing to look back at all of those little snippets of time?

And maybe the boys weren't exactly "cooperating," but those are some of my favorite pictures of them, EVER. They captured the pure boy-ness. Awesome.

There are still a few years there... that I need to catch up on.

LOVE the beach pics precisely because they're just being boys!

Gorgeous family pic too - did you use a tripod or ask a passer-by to take it?

P.S. I think I'm a few posts away from 800

I'm a little slow, and I thought you were announcing you were pregnant.

Anyway, I quite like a few of your Exhibits.

Wow, I am amazed by 1500 posts. I can't even imagine writing on my blog right now! Well, keep it up. Even if I haven't been commenting as much lately, I still come here daily and love reading what you all are up to.

And those pictures are pretty awesome...even if they weren't cooperating. Love them!

Those pictures are hilarious. And in my mind way better than ones where they are perfectly behaved! You always manage to get me teary eyed though. Congrats on 1500, we've enjoyed every minute :-)

Happy 1500! So happy you started blogging or we never would have gotten to be friends! Also, those are some of the greatest most authentic pics ever. Great captures of real life!

Took me half a second to decipher the first post there. For a millisecond, my brain was thinking, "Jon's V didn't work???" I guess that's because Lee is getting his V today ;) Happy 1500!

Go 1500! That's an amazing commitment. It's been fun watching your family grow up. And your photog skills are a million times better than when you first started - no offense.

I think the pics of your "uncooperative" boys are some of the best ones! The one of them with their arms crossed, all tough-guy cute in their little shorts? LOVE it!

And, can I just say how much of an inspiration you are?? Seriously. 1,500 posts?! You are amazing. I hope to read 1,500 more!

Thanks for the advice about the trip, btw. Seeing your trip pictures makes me think we might just give it a try!
