(Except Joanna. She gets a gold star because she comments on every post.)
My point of this post is not to embarrass Tanika. My point is that if you're reading here, you know me but I may not know you. And I WANT to know the people reading! Odds are that if you enjoy reading the mundane details about my life with kids, we would probably get along in real life.
4.5 YEARS AGO someone named Beth commented on my blog asking some sleep questions. I commented on her blog. Comments turned to emails. THREE YEARS AGO this month emails led me to meeting my first blogfriend in person:
Since then, I have also met blogfriends Megan, Joanna, Lindsay, Bridget, Rita, Cacey, Liz, Jenn, Karen, Desi, Heidi, Cathy, Lesley, Julie, Tracey, Maria, Sadia, Rachel, Lisa, Erin B, Erin S, Jodi, and Monika in person. (Did I forget anyone? That was off the top of my head!) 24 amazing women I met because I put myself out there. 24 amazing friends who I got to know through blog posts and comments. A huge huge community of support who make me a better mom.
So if you're reading, I'd love to hear from you. Any time.
PS. If you leave a comment, it helps if your blogger or wordpress profile has an email address attached to it so I can email you back!

Awww man--I don't know why I'm squinting in that picture! That cracks me up. And thanks for posting because I don't have any pictures to post for SMTM today! Most of all, thanks for being an AWESOME friend. Can't believe it's been 4.5 years. Ed is no longer allowed to refer to you as my blog friend, btw. You are officially a real-life friend! I LOVE how I've made so many wonderful friends through not only BBC and my blog, but through YOUR blog. Awesome!
OMG, that Joanna chick sounds like a stalker. How creepy.
Been reading for a while. I know you from the original BBC May06 board.
LOL at Joanna, not that she'll come back and see this.
Love you, my bloggy BFF!
I've been reading for almost 2 years since I became a Mommy. I enjoy your posts because as a mom of a almost 2 year old boy, you sometimes let me know that things get better as they grow out of habits, and somethings never change :) Also, we have similar interests in real food and Charlotte is not quite as advanced in that area as the RDU region. And you have inspired Stacey (conferencecallonmute.blogspot.com) and I to run Warrior Dash in August at Lake Norman. Lastly, your boys are very cute!
Great post. I'm happy to have met a few of my blogfriends, and hopefully someday meet more. I'm happy to say that I've met the famous Laura Case. :P
PS I also have a stalker named Joanna, weird.
So this goes down in history as the mostest, bestest awesomest week of my life!! Inspired by Laura to start a blog about my life with twin boys, I finally got over my procrastination and did it! Monday was my first blog post, which was exciting in and of itself. then....then!!! ... Laura CASE commented on my blog yesterday! I nearly jumped out of my skin. I felt like the cutest boy in school had just asked little ole me to the prom! I didn't think it could get much better than that until today! I'm mentioned in one of Laura's own blog posts! And it seems I inspired HER to write this one. Lordie -- if I had a fainting couch, I'd be on it right now!
I'm on Cloud 9. I'm so happy to be a part of this community of awesome Moms, who take their kids -- but not themselves -- too seriously! (But at the same time are serious about being the best Moms and wives they can be. That's really, really inspiring, guys!)I feel like I already know some of you, from reading Laura's blog for-EVER! And I hope to get to you know all even more, as we go on this marvelous, maddening Mommy-journey together!
I've been reading your blog for awhile. I have a May 06 daughter and am on BBC.
Girl, you know I read [stalk] your blog every.single.day and LOVE all of your posts, I just SUCK at commenting. =(
Gee, Laura, I think you are famous :-) You are a rock star, seriously! I love our blog community, I keep in touch with so many mommas from BBC though both blogs and FB :-) Loves! And LOL at Joanna as well!!
Since I only comment every once in awhile, I think that qualifies me as a non-stalker. Phew. I feel like I must clear my name.
I think I've commented before, but I can't remember. I love reading your posts about your boys - they're adorable! I have a 4 year old daughter, and it's fun to see how different she is from your boys! I wish I had your talent for photography too!
I hardly ever comment on ANYONE because I'm usually reading in Google Reader, on my iPod Touch, and it's such a pain to log in and comment on it.
Lovin' the Beth/LC twin posts today.
Hey, do I get some type of gold star for knowing you IRL, reading most days, AND for starting my own blog Summer '07?
Your crazy Summer "Get R Done" competition with your HS friend was my catalyst.
Man, you have this way of convincing me to do something and like stay with it.
Yes to tomorrow, will email you offline.
I'm one if those regular readers who never comments...sorry! I've been loving your blog for well over a year now. I have fraternal twin boys too, who will be 3 in April and an almost 11 month old baby boy. My twins are also very opposite in looks and personality and sometimes your stories remind me of my guys. You give me hope though that they will someday have a special bond, because right now it seems like they fight more than they get along! They're definitely not 'two peas in a pod' as I've heard so many other parents of twins describe their kids.
I also love your photos, the stories behind them and tips on how you get Nate and Alex to cooperate!
I've probably been reading for over a year too!
This is probably my first comment.
I read your blog because I like your photography and running posts although the boys are adorable too :)
And just this year I joined you over on 500 in 2011. Right now I'm 59th but I'm hoping (reallllly hoping) my miles this week can at least get me into the top 50.
I have been reading your blog for a little over a year! I just didn't comment for like the first 9 months.
The first comment I left you didn't really sink in as something big. It was only when you commented on my second post, helping me with my photo problem that I realised this blogging things was SO MUCH more then it seemed.
Reading your stories has been very inspiring and I have learnt a lot on how to raise my child alone. Now I know you have Jon at home 90% of the time but that 10% you don't has really helped me. I truly thank you for that.
Oh and thanks for the heads up on the email!
Coming out of blog stalking..
We used roll with May 06 Baby Center circle together. I stopped following baby center when it got ..well "crazy" but I stop in on your blog on the regular.
Love your wit, take on life overall, plus your funny. Your "Best Year Ever" has inspired me to look at taking life by the horns more. Hoping 2011 is my year to rock it like LC.
Next time your in MN or the windy city drop me a line.
Tara
I read everyday, don't always comment but I'm here. :)
Man I didn't realize I was in the presence of such royalty today! Our chat today about Internet friends made me come home and tell my hubs to STFU. :). Thanks for today. It was great.
I'm wondering if all the people you've met feel a little objectified as if they are items to be collected?
;) Just kidding, of course. You are an inspiration to so many people!
Long time reader (almost 3 years?), but lately not a great commenter. I think you know I'm still here though, right? :-) Keep doing what you're doing cuz you rock!
I was actually thinking earlier today that I need to email you with some running questions, so you'll be hearing from me again soon! :-)
I think I've been reading for a year and a half or so. I always love hearing what you and your boys (Jon included!) are up to, and I love that your writing is so real.
Hooray for blogfriends but I would watch out for that Joanna chick. LOL! And Tanika's comment is so cute and hilarious. I think she would fit right in with our group of bloggers.
I've been reading along since your blog was spotlighted on Parent Hacks - the hornets in the fireplace story!
I am a nanny for a 3 year old and have been since he was 7 months old. I get so many good tips and ideas from reading Mom blogs - especially yours because you don't gloss over those hard days when they are being little stinkerbutts :)
I've been reading for a while. I'm inspired by your boys and your photography, I have my own fraternal boys who are very different from one another like Nate and Alex, and I am always on the search for other folks who've been there.
Don't comment much at all, but perhaps I'll start.
Love your blog and read it regularly. I'm a huge fan--the fact that you have twins brought me here initially but it's your wit that keeps me coming back. I'll try to comment more as I know how good a single comment feels (I can only imagine what 20+ comments feels like!).
I love reading your blog to keep up on how you, Jon and the boys are doing. I do not blog - just read yours. No, I am not a stalker. HAHA!
Love you guys!
Aunt Rose
Awesome.
Also, thanks for connecting me and Tracey. We probably wouldn't have reached our IRL, but thanks to you, we have, and our kidlets get along wonderfully.
Laura, you rock. 'Nuff said. Inspired to blog after reading yours. Loved meeting you!
I've posted a belated Show me the Mommy again! Great to see all the de-lurkers!
I have yet to make blog friends, but I have made lots of online friends elsewhere, and those are actually the majority of my blogreaders. Mommy-blogging is not such a big thing in Brazil yet, and I have often considered going English full-time because of that.
oh, here goes my post:
http://bijouzinhasarmadas.blogspot.com/2011/01/show-me-mommy.html
Tanika's comment was so funny!
Dude, I'm late to the comment party, but you know I always read! That Joanna lady sounds nutty, but I'd totally hang out with her. Again!
hey there,
do you know that you have a regular reader over here in germany? and that for over one year already?^^
i love your mommy posts but i'm also very interested in how you cope with your hearing aid because thats a well known thing to me... and of course, your boys are "the hit" as we would say here ;-)
greetings sunny
I have read your blog for over a year now. We have twin girls that are a bit younger than your boys. You have an inspiring perspective on parenthood that is honest and refreshing. I have been wanting to go back to running for a long time now, but I think I can say that it was your challenge that really got the ball rolling for me. You rock Laura!
I am SO glad to have met you and to be getting to know you better. You are an inspiration.
I've been reading your blog for almost two years now!
And me too, I was inspired by you to start my own blog about my three years old boy now!
I live in another continent, speak another language, but still I would always hope to meet you!
and I think you are a very special mom!
This is so, so true! It is also what I tried to explain to my non-mom friend about the void blogging and facebook fills in my life as a working mom. I don't see neighbor moms or playgroup moms. I need my internet mom community to survive!
Hi Laura,
I am Marion Bolthof from The Netherlands. I wrote you on Facebook to introduce myself to you. I know you through Cathy who is a friend of my niece Hege in Vancouver.
I still love your blog. You always have to tell us something which is nice, interesting, serious, teaching, touching, etc. etc.
Please keep going on your blog.
Kind regards from Marion.
I've been actually following your blog for awhile. I believe since you wrote on How do you do it....the mom's of multiples blog. I just started up a blog finally this week...after three years of thinking about it hahaha
I realize this is a very old post, but I just discovered your blog and I can't stop reading. I've got 16 month old twin boys and I love reading about where you're at with your handsome little guys.
Just an update for those of you who check the "get follow-up comments" box -- about the full-circle-ness of Laura's blog:
Beth and I met not too long ago, making her the first blogfriend I met in person, too!
http://lesterandtanikadavis.blogspot.com/2011/10/boys-have-great-day-at-port-discovery.html
Isn't that totally cool?? All thanks to Laura! And her ability to attract awesome people to her blog! Yay!
