And so it begins

Kindergarten registration is one month from yesterday. GASP.

I had a couple of registration questions so I called the school. When I picked the boys up, I told them I talked to the school because we need to sign them up soon. We have been talking up kindergarten a LOT because it will be the first time the boys will be separated (we had hoped to separate them earlier). Both boys said they were sad they would be in different classes. I asked why, expecting "I will miss my brother" or "I'm scared to go to a new school." What I got:

"What if no one will play Star Wars with me?"

In all fairness, that's a very serious concern. I totally feel for them.

(And, I need to look into this kindergarten registration thing as well...)

Sounds like a valid concern to me... :-)

Awww. I've told you my perspective on this, I think it will be very good for both of them.

And OMG -- kindergarten is next year!! The kids will all be five in a few months!! (hyperventilating)

My boys were pleasantly surprised to find that other boys knew about Star Wars when they entered Kindergarten this year! haha, I was too thinking what other parents were crazy enough to introduce light sabers at such an early age.---A

Michael's best friends in his class last year are twins. They were split this year (per the mom's request) and Michael had a hard time understanding why at first. I don't even want to explain to him that they won't even be at his school next year since they live in a different district.

It seems in my school that most twins stay together in kindergarten and split in 1st grade. That might just be because we still have some 1/2 day classes and they may need either a.m. or p.m. We actually had triplets who stayed together last year. But as a fourth grade teacher for nine years I've only had one set of twins who were together in class. It was not ideal.

In my nine years, I have had zero experiences of a class without a big gang of Star Wars-lovin' boys.

We have a kindergarten meeting next week in one of the districts we're considering and it makes me want to puke.

He has his priorities.

Lordy! Kindergarten registration. I don't even know if I'll have a job, or will be home-schooling. Ack!
