Don't they look like little investment bankers?

It is cold cold cold here, so the only way I can get them to take quick outdoor photos for me is bribery. This time the bribery was in the form of choosing whatever shoes they wanted to wear outside.

Both boys sang their hearts out and despite The Golden Nose Picking Rule, Alex nervously picked his nose during the performance. OF COURSE HE DID. (this is post-pick)

The rest of the weekend was filled with holiday activities. We attended our church's family holiday service. We rode the Durham Life Science Santa Train to the North Pole and saw Santa and Mrs. Claus. We had hot chocolate and a fire in the fireplace. The boys decided to make Christmas pictures for the grandparents. And we made a blizzard of snowflakes... they could have done this all night:

Age 4 is an amazing time to be parents to children around Christmas. I love seeing the sheer joy and excitement on their faces, and each day, they wake up excited that it is one day closer to Christmas. To me, this is what the holidays should be like.
Except, please, just a tiny bit warmer.

I second the being a little warmer part. Thankfully we haven't seen any snow here!
So cute! Somehow we convince Milo to wear a button down/sweater vest combo to his party at school on Friday (another awesome hand-me-down from the Case boys) and also looked like he was going to work.
How many ways do I love this post. And yes I busted out laughing at those shoes. Alex is all set if we indeed get "real" snow.
I couldn't agree more that I'm more conscious of this holiday with Ben's boundless excitement.
Have a great week as family arrive to celebrate and wrap up an awesome 2010.
Those two are way too cute to be investment bankers. And the shoes are awesome.
i LOVE that first picture of them. And, the nose picking? Priceless!
The cutest little investment bankers EVER!
I *LOVE* the boots.
And yes, Christmas at this age is decidedly awesome. (BTW, Tracey invited us to spend Christmas Eve with her family! Isn't that the coolest thing?)
Nice sweater vests. Pretty funny that our kids wear the same things every year for Christmas. Oh and I adore that close up of Nate. I think that's def The One.
