Christmas candids 2010

As I learn more and more about photography, I set the bar higher for the photos I am willing to share here. Then I decided that was stupid and I should share what ALL of our family photos look like... not just the best of the best. Enjoy!

Lest you think my children always cooperate for photos, here is a completely failed photo shoot.

Candid01

In ALL of my adult years, I do not remember ever getting more than one cold a winter. Now into my second man cold, I realized WHY I am getting sick... two nose pickers in my house.

Candid02

This is as close to a genuine Nate smile as I have ever been able to capture. But why?

Candid03

Oh yes... my angel boy "respecting" the tree.

Candid04

Did I mention the boys dress themselves now? This one gets his fashion sense from me.

Candid05

I haven't had my V-8!

Candid06

Jon is a pretty awesome husband and father to encourage me in my photo ideas.

Candid07

And Alex? CLOUD NINE to be able to jump off the couch to Jon. Look at that face! The Spider-Man socks make the picture to me.

Candid08

Jon HATES photos where he is looking to the side with his mouth hanging open. Therefore...

Obligatory Christmas morning deer in headlights do not take my picture I've got presents to open shot:

It wouldn't be Christmas without Alex crying. This time, he was upset that Nate was singing and playing the guitar louder than him.

Candid11

Oh I can't do it. I can't end on that photo. Alex has been such a sweetheart this year and seeing him in the snow this week, I have fallen in love with a new part of him I never knew existed.

Candid12

I've resurrected my other blog and will be posting pictures there daily. It seemed perfect to kick it off with a nature hike Alex and I took by ourselves in the snow on the greenway by our new house.

I always LOVE your photos. I am still looking for a class to take.

Star Wars jammies rock. These pics just show how BOY your household is. Nose picking, jumping off furniture, messing with the tree.

Love the Star Wars pajamas.

My girls didn't notice that they mostly got the same things. I do wonder when I'll start picking out very different things for them.

Caden is super into the snow. She doesn't mind the cold and begged and begged to go sledding. It was so awesome to see her out there enjoying herself, smiling and laughing and loving it. I totally get your Alex love!

Beautiful photos!! I went thru that phase too, where I would only show the "best" photos. But then I remembered that their blog is about life, real life, not perfect pictures so now anything goes!!!

Cameron has been picking her nose a lot lately and I've been getting sick a lot more too...so perhaps it's not a coincidence? Oddly, she hasn't been sick as often as me! Great photos as always and Merry Christmas to the Case family!

I love your candids. Analese got chutes and ladders for Christmas. Some of the games seem to drag on forever and ever. Darn chutes!

Here's the thing, Laura. You're not-best-of-the-best is still way out of the range of my best.

For what it's worth, mine rarely pick their nose, but get awfully terribly, horribly stuffed up. Cause and effect?

Oh, did you see that Hallmark has a Star Wars ornament series?
