How the boys are handling the move

Alex is one of those kids who has sleep disruptions any time there is change. Time change? 2AM wake up. Molar teething? Easier to sleep in our bed for a month. Travel? An adult has to sleep with him or he wakes up crying. Walking, crawling, talking, potty training, trips... you name it, he wakes up for a couple of nights.

Imagine our great surprise when we:

* Moved to a new house
* On time change weekend
* Separated the boys into bedrooms by themselves

and Alex has slept soundly through the night.

Truly, the boys are excited about the new house. We hyped it up ahead of time and I'm so glad we did!

We also took this opportunity to separate clothes. Since they're the same (shortie) size and they shared a room, we always put all the clothes together. Sunday night we let the boys pick "their" clothes and moved it into their closets. Since the move and separation, we've had less post-bedtime insanity. I think we are all breathing easier with a little more space.

I'm hoping to keep house-related posts to a minimum for awhile and get back to regularly scheduled mommy blogging.

PS. We tried the TJ's meatloaf muffins and yuck. Do not recommend. However they are carrying tons of new items which I will blog about soon.

I'm glad Alex seems to be handling the move well. Is it possible that he's just too exhausted?

Meatloaf muffins? Really?

Yet more confirmation that you have moved into your dream house and all is right. :-)

A dream house is where you dream at, right?

Please don`t stop the house posts (with pics!)

That's great that there are no sleep disruptions.

Meatloaf muffins would not even be in my shopping cart :)

That's great news about Alex. I feel your pain on that one. So how exactly do you plan to keep their clothes separate?

Oddly this is one of the things I choose to stress over as we gradually convert the guest bedroom to Jessica's room. So far I've been planning to leave everything in Sarah's room.

I am enjoying your house posts and am in AWE of you being completely moved in. I should not be surprised after having read your blog for so long. If I could just borrow a bit of that motivation it would be great!

It looks like we are moving in the next month also. We signed the official loan stuff yesterday and hope to close in a month. :) This has been such a roller coaster.

My twin sis and I shared a room until we went to college. When we were little, one of us always ended up in the other one's bed, even when we had bunk beds. I wonder if your boys will start trying to sleep in the same room now that they have their own space and don't have to?
