Show Me the Mommy!

V-Neck Top Edition.

Julie from Joy's Hope recently did a post about her obsession with Havaiana flip flops and asked what your fashion obsession is. Considering I am the least fashionable person on the planet (engineers are like that), I couldn't think of a signature item. Until I remembered I go a *little overboard* with v-neck tops.

Day 1.
I decide to do the Pioneer Woman patented hip pose to rock my v-neck looks this week. This is my standard work-from-home summer outfit. Since I'm busty AND short, v-neck shirts often show my bra so I always wear a tank top underneath.

Day 1

Day 2.
But Laura! This doesn't look like a v-neck. Oh yes, I'm wearing a green tank top under a green shirt. Awesome fashion choice.

Day 2

Day 3.
Shopping with a friend on yet another 95 degree September day, I busted out the v-neck dress. (It takes so much courage to rock hair this short, you have no idea.)

Day 3

Day 4.
My obsession with v-necks spreads to every single type of top, even my favorite running jacket. And yes, I always look this terrible in hats but it was a rainy run. PS. Getting a cold sore from your kids is awesome right before you're about to be in a million photos.

Day 4

Day 5.
While packing, I tried on a v-neck dress I will be wearing this weekend. It also demonstrates why I usually wear a tank under my v-necks.

Day 5

So... Show Me the Mommy! Comment here if you play along!

And where am I going this weekend? VEGAS. But not just Vegas. I'm going to Vegas with:

Lindsay
Joanna
Beth
Jenn
Desi
Bridget
Rita
Julie
Heidi
and we will also be meeting Cathy and Lesley!

It's going to be LEGENDARY.

I am a fan of both Havaianas and V-neck shirts/dressed. If you wear flip-flops, you will love those! Have fun in Vegas.

Love the v-necks! I wear them all the time too, because I have very broad shoulders. But I definitely envy your need for the tank top underneath!

Have a great time in Vegas!

Jealous! And you can totally rock the short hair. See you TONIGHT!

HAVE FUN!!! I wish I could have gone. Isn't it sad that the only way we have pics of ourselves is if we take them in the mirror!??

I was going to comment on how much I love your navy dress, until I saw the red one - WOWZERZ! You look PERFECT in that dress! And I love the short hair!

Have a fantastic time in Vegas!

You look great in V-necks. And, hello cleavage with the dress! I wish I had that problem!
Have a fantastic time in Vegas!!!!! YAY!!!
p.s. yes, I like my battery grip...it is heavy, but it is nice to have a back up battery for photo shoots!

Sexy mama in that red dress!!! Have fun this weekend in Vegas! Maybe I'll be able to go next year... I am sure I'll be ultra jealous! But, I can't wait to hear how it goes!

Busty? Check. Short? Check. 5 billion v-neck tops/dresses/sweaters? Check. As far as the cleavage, that is one of the advantages of the v-neck IMO. If you've got it, flaunt it!

Love both of the dresses, especially the blue one (the detailing on straps and neckline is great). Being rather busty myself, I almost only wear v- and open-necked tops.

Have fun in Vegas!!

Va va voooom! Can I have just a smidge of that? And then you won't have to wear tank tops underneath your shirts anymore. =)

Can't wait to meet you!!!!

This made me realize that I'm also obsessed with v-necks - same as Beth, though, because I also have broad shoulders and need the v-neck to balance out. I end up wearing a tank top underneath since Claire is always pulling on my clothes - I just wish I had the cleavage issue. Even 33 weeks pregnant, I'm barely a B. Such a pity! :)

This post made me laugh because that's the reason I NEVER wear V-necks - I (very sadly) have no boobs and the tops just gape too much............

You look awesome with the cleavage but I absolutely get the comfort thing......:)

Love your hair at that length. I would totally chop mine off if I could. (Meaning, if I wasn't married!) I'll have to do a post like this next week. I already know what my fashion obsession is!
