Last night the boys agreed to go off the diving board if I brought the big camera to the pool, so I captured some of the deep end craziness. Our pool has two diving boards - a regular diving board and a 1 meter board (3 foot). Can you believe Alex?

He has only done a couple of tricks as he is still gaining confidence on the board, mostly variations of cannonballs.

Nate, on the other hand, tries to copy whatever he sees other kids doing. Sometimes it's something simple like dives. He goes so deep on these dives. I try not to be scared but he's so little!

The thing that makes it so incredibly fun to watch is that he names every single dive. He calls them "Flamingo Hop" or "Turtle Tooney." He hates repeating the same trick. We've had to spend a LOT of time explaining to him how to do a trick without getting hurt. He's gone off the board backwards, done spins, and even tried flips.

After I left to meet a friend for dinner (at delish new pizza place Bella Mia), Jon said Alex went off the 1 m board the rest of the night. I can't believe I missed it. When it comes time to plan fall sports, something tells me it might be time to stick with swimming.

Forget swimming--go for diving! LOL
WOW! Those pics put into perspective just how big they are getting!
I love the pictures of your boys swimming and diving. They are so cute, and they also indulge my love of water. This post reminded me of the night I finally went off the diving board. My dad had taken us too the pool and I remember coming home and telling my mom what I had done. I was so proud. How cool is it that your boys will have pictures to keep these memories fresh for them?
Love it! It is just amazing. I'm still impressed with SWIMMING much less diving, cannon-balling and doing the Turtle Tooney! :) Seren prefers jumping into our arms. Period. No real swimming yet. So glad you captured these images!
Keep the pictures coming! I love them! Big congrats to Nate and Alex!
Love the pool pictures and WOW they really excel at swimming and diving. Who knows, maybe you have a Michael Phelps in the making! I don't really know the divers that well! LOL
I agree. These memories are precious to share in.
I love the pool pics (course I love ALL your pics! :)
but seriously, how amazing our your boys that they can swim in the deep end by themselves with no assistance? When I taught lessons, I had a lot of four year olds still getting used to putting their face in the water and scared to float in the shallow end. Your boys ROCKS!
What awesome swimmers! Cooper loves our neighborhood pool too, but still gets around with his puddle jumper floatie on. He is fearless about jumping in (no diving boards though, they aren't at our pools) but only with the floatie on.
love all the photos laura, who can say no to happy kids? :D
Amazing photos of amazingly great swimmers! Awesome!
totally not bored with swimming/pool pics! LOVE THEM!!!
Those pool pictures are awesome. I am so envious: Julian will not put his head under! And he's a year older!
As a non-family/friend who you may be concerned with boring, I will share that the quality of the pictures is probably a make or break element of whether or not a near-stranger will find them engaging. These are great (and of course I've been following along with your twins since gestation so I'm interested in their mad swimming skills) but I could imagine that muddy pics of swimming boys not related to me could be boring. Good work on capturing and editing your photos.
