I am punting a post for the first time ever

Last week and weekend were jam packed for me. Friday I took a professional certification exam for which I have been studying for weeks (passed!). Saturday I went to an all-day photoshop class that was not good. Sucks to lose an entire summer day but I have a much clearer idea of the skills I need to work on and how to achieve them. Sunday I went to Charlotte for the day to see Irene and her newborn twins.

I want to dedicate an entire post to my visit (with SUPER CUTE pics of the family) but I am not ready yet. Instead I will just leave you with two pictures I took over the weekend. Which one do you like more? NOT THE KID! Which picture do you like more and why?

Alex

Alex outside

Natey bo batey

Nate outside vintage

Damn I love them both. The kids and the pictures.

I love both boys too!

I think I like the pic of Alex most - don't know why? The way he's posing?

he just looks too adorable and begging for a hug!

You have such handsome little boys! I also like the first picture better. His smile and pose are just too cute!

I like the Alex picture better. It looks richer to me. The Nate picture looks a little washed out to me. I know this is because of the sepia (sp?) tone that it has - so I don't think it is a "bad" photo. I just don't prefer the "look".

I can't see the pics yet, but this does not count as "punting." You wrote a post, in your own words, that tells us about your life. And you posted pictures. Nice try, though! :-)

Super cute!

I like the picture of Alex, I think mostly because I prefer the more vivid colors.

I like the first picture better. I think it captures just how sweet our 4 year old boys can be.

Well, of course with such cute boys, it's hard to pick a picture that I don't love, but from a technical point of view, I prefer the picture of Alex. The colors are more vibrant and they really bring him to life. The picture of Nate looks very washed out. The treatment steals the natural colors of his cheeks and eyes and leave him a little flat looking. I also find the position of Nate's hand to be a little distracting. It pulls my eyes down to his throat to see what is going on there. Is there any way you could play with the photo and bring back a little color to his eyes, cheeks and lips? I'd be interested to see what you could do with that.

They are both precious!

I prefer the photo of Alex - I'm drawn to more vivid photos (as indicated by our choice of professional photographers - our main one always takes such vibrant photos). I also like the pose - it's just so sweet.

I like the Alex pic too. I love the sharpness, the color, the life that it has. I don't care for the second photo being so soft. Perhaps I would like in black and white, but I think I like my B&W whites to be fairly high contrast as well.

I think I like the picture of Alex, but more than anything it has to do with the brightness of the colors. I've seen more compelling pics of Nate that show off his eyes better. I would take either quality photo of S&J.

I mean, really, both the pictures are gorgeous, but I think the one of Alex 'came out', better. I have zero experience with photography, I take most of my pictures with my iphone so I have no idea what I'm talking about, but the lighting and color and all that jazz looks better in Alex's.

I like both pictures, but prefer the Alex picture as well! I have an award for you on my blog!

Thank you for your lovely comment on my birthday post.

I'm going with Alex. That just looks like such a sweet moment.

Love crispness and the color of photo #1. Is that photoshopped?

I'm back, and definitely vote for the Alex picture. The Nate picture looks a little washed out.

Both boys are adorable in the pictures, but I like the color in the Alex picture better than Nate's. Just my photo preference I guess!

Alex - looks like he has an amazing secret and I want to know what it is! Nate - Mr. peaches and cream... his coloring is so pretty and he looks kind of ethereal, which is intriguing because it's pretty much not my take on him at all. Great pictures!
