* I made Salted Caramel Chocolate Cupcakes with Toffee Sprinkles last night. BEST CUPCAKE EVER. Sounds fancy but everything came from a box, even the frosting. I made mine mini and used Baker's Joy spray instead of cupcake liners for easier eating. Mini cupcakes >> regular cupcakes because the frosting to cupcake ratio is perfect.
On her blog, Julie mentioned big chunks of toffee bar left over. I bought a bag of mini toffee bars and let the boys crush them with hammers. No big chunks left! Four year old boys are thorough. If you ever need 30 minutes of peace to work on cupcakes, give your kids hammers and candy and let them go to town.
* Bathtime is so freaking fun at our house. Still the best joy of the day. While it looks like they are kissing in this photo, Nate is actually spitting water into Alex's mouth. I'm SO HAPPY with this photo... happy with technical details, happy with B&W conversion, happy with the moment. When I click the shutter, THIS is what I hope to capture.

* Last night was probably the last night of catching lightning bugs because the bugs keep coming out later and later and the mosquitoes are getting worse and worse. Lindsay mentioned I rarely upload videos so I put together a little montage I like to call "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Lightning Bug Catching Ability." You will quickly understand the heartbreaking part:
* Irene made it to 38 weeks with twins and is getting induced tomorrow! As if Irene wasn't already my hero, she made it FULL TERM WITH TWINS.
* Seriously, make those cupcakes.
* PS - One True Media is down right now, OF COURSE. Come back later and watch the video.

Today is my anniversary so I have our honeymoon on my mind. (Oh, to be kid-less in the Caribbean again!) The most popular drink on the islands (USVI and BVI) was the Pain Killer. The name says it all. If you like fruit rum drinks, you will like this. Here is the recipe:

Have fun!!
Indeed. That is THE photo. Gorgeous.
Those cupcakes sound incredible. If you are ever in Asheville, visit Chocolate Fetish for their salted caramels. Yum. Somewhere I have a recipe for a spiked lemonade that wasn't too sweet and you could make it as strong as you liked. Will see if I can find it. Love the photo & video ... summer is definitely here!
Okay first of all the photo is perfect. I love it! Second of all does Nate have on his shirt inside out in the video? Just asking. And third want a totally girly drink that packs a lot of alcohol? I love June Bugs - 1 oz Melon Liqueur (Midori), 1/2 oz coconut flavored rum (Malibu), 1/2 oz banana liqueur, 2 oz sweet & sour, 2 oz pineapple juice...
And how fitting - my word verification is rested.
LOVE the photo and have mean meaning to ask about Irene. Was thinking Wednesday was the magic day.
Lots of love and support to her and the boys!
I love a raspberry or blackberry lemonade "syrup" that can easily be enjoyed virgin with just sparkling or regular water or mixed with vodka for a cocktail. I'm not too exact with the "recipe" anymore. It's basically two of the smaller packages of raspberries or blackberries mashed with about 2 cups of sugar (or less, if you like it less sweet). You let them sit for about 10 minutes and strain. Mix with the juice of 8 (or so) lemons and store this "syrup" in the fridge. Being pregnant I enjoy it now just mixed with club soda, but I've served it to friends with club soda and vodka, and they've loved it.
That picture is gorgeous. GORGEOUS!
The video is priceless. I love little boys.
I'm grateful for the picture and video because they made me forget about some evil looking recipe that I am not responsible enough to partake in.
(1) LOVE the picture.
(2) Yea that I have context for the video!
(3) Margarita punch:
1 can frozen limeade
1 Corona
juice from 1-2 limes
(use the limeade can to measure the rest...)
1 can Sprite (or 7-Up, whatever)
1/2 can tequila
1/4 can triple sec
(you can adjust the alcohol to your preference)
My mom and I laughed at the picture. We can totally imagine Emory (my fair-haired child) spitting water into Dean's (my dark-haired child) mouth! So cute and what a wonderful moment to capture!
I always felt like my best runs were on days when it was a little humid because my muscles were nice and warm.
For me, a good summer drink can't be too sweet or else I can't drink more than one. How about sangria with a heavy dose of brandy? The fruit makes it healthy!
I'm so going to have to make those cupcakes!!! My regular "go to" drink is vanilla stoli and diet coke. YUMMMMM! Tastes like cream soda and makes Mama happy. =)
Love the photo!!!
Ok that picture is awesome. You must frame a large version of it on canvas and put it on your bathroom wall. Precious! Loved the video too.

Finally checking out the photo and videos. Too cute! And I hope Irene had a great delivery and that mom and babies are resting and doing well. Can't wait to see the pictures you take of them!
