Friday (Crawford) gumbo!

* I thoroughly enjoyed all of the Star Wars comments yesterday. I wish I could respond publicly but having been a nerd for 36 years, I've learned to keep my public nerdiness to a particular level. As soon as I responded via email to Joanna with this gem "Ewoks : Return of the Jedi :: Jar Jar Binks : A New Hope" I knew I had to keep my mouth shut on the comments.

* In a fit of craziness, I told my hairdresser I was tired of my hair looking afro-y and wanted to do something very short. I am deeply regretting this decision today.

* How have some people not seen Star Wars???

* Three weeks into swim team and Alex has started to get in. They have started having Nate try to swim unassisted and he gets very upset. We are staying optimistic they will eventually swim.

* I am now day 9 into my TV detox. It sucks but, as my friend Gillian pointed out last night, it has given me a lot to think about in terms of my relationship with TV. After being "on" at either work or home for 13-14 hours in a row, I need a solid 30 minutes of quiet passive time to unwind. Unfortunately I am learning that reading or computer time is not helping me unwind, so I feel very cranky and unrelaxed.

* Fortunately I have LOTS of plans to relax this weekend as Lindsay is coming to visit!!!

Oh my, you aren't even posting pictures of the hair? Yikes. Don't worry though, it will grow back.

I mentioned the trying Empire approach to Andy and it was not well received. Andy is of the opinion that if you can't sit through the first movie you don't deserve to see the second.

I think I need to invest in a sensory deprivation chamber if I ever want to really unwind.

Finally, I hope you and Lindsay have an awesome time this weekend.

No?? The hair??? It looked so pixie-ish last night. On the tv thing, i am amazed how much I don't watch at home. Not that I'm doing a detox, but unless it's on for ben. I almost forget to turn it on. But I'm listening to enough NPR to start my own pledge drive.

There is NOTHING on TV right now. You aren't missing anything.

There are people who haven't seen Star Wars? You mean ANY of them or just the original "Star Wars". Either way...crazy!

It is crazy to me that there are people out there who haven't seen Star Wars. Empire Strikes Back is the first movie I remember seeing in a theater!

Have fun with Linz this weekend!

It does seem crazy that some people haven't seen Star Wars. I thought those were classic movies *and of course, I am talking about IV, V, and VI*

I wouldn't be able to survive through the TV detox. TV is so mindless to me and a great way to unwind.

Can't wait to hear about this weekend!!

Let your readers be the judge of your hair - I'm sure you're your worst critic :)

When students or other friends tell me they have haven't seen Star Wars, I tell th they aren't American. And not to correct you but you meant Jar Jar in Phant Menace, right? There's nothing I enjoy more than finding the whole series on Spike like it was last weekend. I am not on tv detox yet :)
