Pictures pictures pictures

Our weekend with grandma Jen and John was fantastic, lots of running around and enjoying ourselves. They got to see the boys in action at swim team and visit Duke Gardens before the ridiculous rain storms moved in and had us inside the rest of the weekend.

I didn't bust out my camera because we had TWO family photo shoots this weekend. We did some family shots at Duke and in downtown Durham with a new photographer and I am VERY excited about how they will turn out! On Sunday we trekked down to Portrait Innovations because my mom loves going there and they do a great job entertaining kids for studio pictures.

Can you have enough pictures of your kids? No. And the boys had a blast at PI, even Nate, who was laughing and hamming it up:

Hammy fourth birthday

Some of the pictures are uber cheesy, like the ones where they asked the boys to stand in front of a fake wall and make a mean face. This picture cracks me up every time I look at it because it is so cheesy. That look!

Meanie Alex

Thanks mom and John for visiting us! Come back soon!

(And yes other grandparents and great-grandmas, I have PI pictures for you.)

Today I am bouncing around between all five stages of loss at the end of Lost. Some moments are filled with anger, some with sadness, some with denial, but (NO SPOILERS) overall I have accepted the end and am glad they went out on a high note. BEST SHOW EVER.

Something about Alex's expression in the second photo makes him look like Mark Wahlberg.

I never watched Lost, but I felt the same way when Six Feet Under ended. In fact, I pretty much swore off television once SFU ended because I was so bereft. Oh, and I had NO IDEA that Mario watches Lost, until last night when he suddenly disappeared in the other room to hunker down and watch the recap and last episode. I eventually ended up reading in the same room and occasionally looked over the top of my book to see what the big deal was. What I didn't realize was that he was flipping over to watch Stargate during the gazillion commercial breaks - for about an hour I thought that it was all one show, and I was REALLY confused! When I finally said "OMG the guy from Twin Peaks, who's on that other show you watch, is on Lost too?" Mario gave me a really weird look and said, "yeah, and MacGyver, too - everyone from Stargate is on Lost" I just went in the other room.

Adorable photos! I will have to see if we have a PI in my area, because I need some cute, cheesy shots of my boys :)

I don't watch LOST (heard about it too late and tried to watch an episode in the middle and was thoroughly confused and bored) so no comment on the ending, except that I'm glad you liked it!

LOVE the pics and the slicked back hair (hello Don Draper)

As far as LOST, I had to go there this morning. OMG forgot about Twin Peaks. Loved that crazy, David Lynch show back in the day.

I think the picture turned out great!

So silly in the first and funny in the second. I didn't watch lost either so I feel ambivalent.
