* In continuing with our busy summer schedule, my mom and her husband John arrive today just in time to see the boys at swim team. We have said "her husband John" so much the boys started calling him "HerHusbandJohn." Family pictures this weekend!
* I think the entire country will be at a standstill on Sunday for the series finale of Lost. Our house will be! For the record, I have always been Team Jack and I have never liked Sawyer. But then I am lame because I like good guys and have never gone for the bad boys. Plus could Sawyer please stand up straight for once?!
* I'm going to reconsider that lameness. I am awesome for never going for the bad boys. I hope to teach my boys that Good Guys Always Win. Look, Jon won me so my theory must be right.
* Glee makes me feel old. I watched the episode where they did Bust a Move and everyone said it was old school. Old school to me is Rapper's Delight. Considering I watched the original V on TV and the new one, I may have to admit I AM old.
* After all the series finales, I am going on a 30 day TV fast. A detox, if you will. It's been four years since I've been off bed rest so I can't blame it for my TV problems anymore. I made peace with this decision then last night I read they are doing SYTYCD All Stars (!!!) AND Lindsay and Ann are both visiting during my planned 30 day TV fast!!!
* My new plan is to do a 30 day TV fast with two exceptions. I can watch one movie a week with Jon since we do that as an in-home date night. And if I have the two friends who love SYTYCD as much as I do in my home, it is okay to watch it with them if we are also drinking and chatting. The intent of the fast is to break the cycle of watching TV just to do something.
* The fact that most of this post is about TV means I need a break from TV.

Bust a Move old school? These little whipper snappers have no clue. They don't remember the good old days when rap was angst ridden and meaningful and people wore belts to hold up their pants. And I do wish they would get off my lawn...
As for no TV. Yay, we'll finally have similar TV experiences to share.

I've watched all of Lost on Hulu. I may have to make an exception for the finale and watch it real-time.
We use our TV for Lucas' XBOXes, my workout DVDs, and the girls' Clickstart. I think it's time to cancel cable.
In real life I like good guys, but on tv and in movies I like the more complex guys (Dr. House is celebrity super crush). Jack has only been remotely likable to me during the past several episodes, but I've always loved Sawyer.
Can't wait for the finale!!
OMG I didn't know it was going to be all stars. E is going to freak out because he's kind of relieved we just watched the finale of Amazing Race.
But we still haven't watched this week's Lost, and sadly, won't be watching on Sunday because he will be out of town. That's what I get for finally convincing him to watch with me after 5 years of solo watching!
And I was delighted to read you are Team Jack as I thought I was the only one.
Believe it or not, I actually have NEVER watched Lost. I didn't watch it, because I knew it was the kind of show that would get me all agitated such that I wouldn't be able to sleep. I know, I totally missed an entire cultural phenomenon. Ah well.
Totally psyched for SYTYCD, though!
And in the recent episode of Glee when Rachel was all "let's do some classic rock" and started singing U2? I almost threw something at the TV. And then I realized Achtung Baby came out almost 20 years ago, and almost cried.
Face it...we're "old" LOL. We're alot closer to 40 than 20. I vividly remember watching the first run of "V" and being scared witless, then I saw it on some cable channel years later and couldn't believe how lame the special effects and costumes were.
"Bust a Move" old school? That's hilarious. That was in the 90s!

After devoting my entire summer to watching the whole Lost series on Netflix. I've finally seen the finale. Did you post your thoughts? I can't find them if you did. I was emotional and annoyed all at once with the ending. Curious to know what you thought? :)
