Here I was inspired by Alex and tried to get all artsy with my photo! He asked me to draw a picture of him and me together. My heart hurts with how sweet he is.

Nate is intense in his artwork. He likes to thoroughly color something and is close to coloring completely inside the lines. His artwork always includes his name. Always.
I'd love to show you pictures of Nate drawing on the windows but after he quickly colored on the carpet two times, he lost the privilege to use window crayons. He did join us by sitting and crying over the loss while Alex and I happily colored away.

Ironic that he came home with a "I had a great day" sticker from school huh?
(By the way, I don't think I would recommend window crayons for the under 4 set. They are really messy and chunks tend to fall off them. It is also too easy to accidentally draw on walls. And ask Nate, it's pretty easy to intentional draw on carpet.)

Such great photos! The colors in your Alex pictures really pop. But I will admit, my favorite picture is the one of Nate. I take a lot of pictures of Nina crying about the indignities of being a 3.25 year old. Her tantrums are so spectacularly dramatic right now that I just shoo the cats away, remove any sharp objects, and enjoy the show.
The pollen is getting to be a little much, isn't it? I can't keep Nina inside for anything, and every night we both come inside covered in pollen. I was this close to getting Nina window crayons, but she would definitely look for every opportunity to draw on our walls (and probably try to draw on the cats). And even under supervision, I suspect she would squirrel away as many fallen chunks as possible.
I love the truth of this post. That an afternoon and an activity can be awesome, but also a standard kid meltdown.
The pollen has been horrible in Charlotte too. I actually just wrote about that on my blog today :-)
Laura, you are a much braver woman than I am. After dealing with bathtub crayon problems, window crayons are not an option in my house. I'm glad that they are such a good thing for Alex. Sorry about Nate and the carpet. You really do get the full range of experiences with your boys.
The pollen. WOW! I'm thinking about - achoo - blogging about it today.
So far Cooper doesn't know that tub markers/crayons and window markers/crayons exist. I think I am going to keep it that way for a while.
Love the pictures, and that Nate has an "I had a great day" sticker on his shirt.
I would probably go crazy with those crayons. I like the way you can celebrate their differences and different achievements. The photos are great as well.
i agree! it's hard for ME to color on just the paper... I'd lose it with window crayons. :)
awesome pics as always, but more awesome that you can stomach the fear of coloring everywhere!
I second Steph - Michael doesn't know that things like window crayons even exist. After a washable marker incident about a year ago, he is only allowed to use crayons.
Oh, wow!! That photo of Nate. Wow. I LOVED the phrase on his tape with that post... talk about artsy! And, Alex, sweet Alex. I don't (ever) usually say this but, if I could have a boy like him, I might consider wanting a boy.
Well you just gave me an idea for my weeks at home w/the kids (that hubby will probably hate). J is pretty good about keeping his tub crayons in the tub, and thankfully we don't have carpet downstairs so off to find some window crayons LOL...
Hah! Thanks for the warning. I was reading and thinking. Oh, I have alway wanted to try that with the boys! :)
I'm catching up on the blog and am VERY jealous of your 2 full hours with no whining and fighting. :) I think the 3's are going to be QUITE a journey. Throw in a newborn and I may be completely INSANE!
I am in love with your camera bag! Gorgeous!
My kids love window crayons too. Window crayons are such a hit in my house. Scribbling at windows is a fun activity for the kids, as they feel a certain rush of creative juices inside them.
My children love art and drawing. They love drawing so much that they draw on any surface, including windows, walls and doors. That's why we had to repaint all of them! But that's okay. At least I know now that they are good in drawing. I just had to breathe and look at the bright side. LOL!
