Quarantine

Friday night, Nate puked MANY times between 1:30AM and 6:30AM. The first puke involved cleaning pillows, pillowcases, sheets, blankets, pajamas. Oy. I had the BRILLIANT idea to move the extra toddler bed mattress into our room. This meant we would be able to hear him easily and the waterproof mattress meant easier clean up. I'd do this every time we have a puking kid except next time I will put the mattress on Jon's side as I did most of the "dirty work" holding the puke bowl for Nate.

Saturday morning he was fever and puke free. On Sunday everything he wanted to say Thursday through Saturday came spilling out all day. I have never heard that kid talk so much in his life. Even Alex was getting frustrated, not able to get a word in. He followed each of us around the house, talking and talking and talking. Although tiring, it was nice to have Nate back.

Nate is the only kid at school who got sick, which leads me to believe it was a grocery store, Target, or Chick-fil-A exposure. The rest of this week we're on quarantine. I don't want anything to stop our Phoenix trip so if it means hiding at home for a few days, that's what we're doing.

Now would be the time for me to mention how much I hate cold and flu season.

Oh my god. Puke is bad. Puking in the wee hours of the morning? SUPER bad. At least at this age they can kinda 'aim' in the general direction of the puke bucket. Kinda. Hope you got yourself something from Starbucks today! Hugs!

I'm so impressed that Alex didn't get sick. (Did I just say that out loud? Doh!) Seth started up with another cold on Friday and we didn't go anywhere over the weekend because I kept waiting for the fever and coughing to start, convinced he's going to have a relapse respiratory infection. So far, so good though. I'm glad Nate is back to his loquacious self!

Can I get a DUDE on the last sentence? I have been sick since before Thanksgiving. I feel better than medium today for the first time in over a week and wake to JTC's croupy cough. *Sigh*

BUSY SEASON, people!!!

Glad Nate is feeling better.

Devin had this from 11pm to 7 am Saturday night/Sunday morning (every half hr-hour) and then proceeded with a fever. He is not bouncing back as well as Nate though.

Good luck. I hope that quarantine helps and nothing ruins your trip!

Poor Nate. I'm glad he's feeling better. I hope the quarantine works for you and everyone is healthy for the trip.

So glad Nate is feeling better and that no one else in your family has gotten sick (knock on wood). Stomach bugs suck for clean up factor alone!

Ned, Husband, Nanny April and I all got the stomach flu. And I wasted a Saturday in bed! But it was 24 hrs so not too bad. I wonder when it will hit Penny... I'm glad Nate is back to himself!

Glad Nate is feeling better! I am laughing about the amount of talking he did because that's how Cooper was on Sunday- nonstop. I think it was because he was so tired. Hopefully Alex doesn't pick up whatever Nate had!

Stomach bugs are the worst! I think I had one of the only 2 year olds who knew how to lean over the toilet to puke and can make it there without getting sick first. That should tell you how many times he caught the stomach virus!! Hope the quarantine works.

I loathe cold and flu season...
The one time that all three of the kiddos got sick (and I mean, all three, full out flu at the same time kinda sick) I happened to be out of town on a road trip. Ooops!
Glad that he is feeling better.
Now stay healthy :)

Well you know how I feel about cold and flu season this year. That was the longest six weeks of my life. Next time I might try a puke bucket, we can't drag J's bed into our room b/c he's already in a twin-size.

Glad to hear he's feeling better. And too funny about the talking! One of my sons was sick for the past few days, and did the same thing today! Cracked me up :)

Hope you're all a-okay and super healthy for the trip!

I'm so so glad Nate is better - I love the talking story!!! And I'm also impressed Alex didn't get sick.

I've been looking at your photos - just beautiful - your boys make it easy to take good pics - they're SUCH handsome little boys. I'm also doing project 365 - the extremely amateur version though, with a point and click camera :)

And how interesting about the Mirena - I think my birth control pills made me thinner - I need to phone the doc and discuss this nonsense! I still don't see why I need to be on BCP after spending thousands getting pregnant and having babies!

Also, saw your comment on Mommy Esq - hope your days are improving soon...and that Skype works perfectly every time.

The pukes are the worst, hands down. So gross, so much laundry and so contagious-anytime someone in my house pukes, I am SO next. Glad to hear he is on the mend and so far (knock on wood) everyone else is healthy.

Glad Nate's feeling better. I'm just reading this now, as both my girls were sick for the last three nights. I can't even count how many times I changed sheets, but I finally started putting towels underneath everything so keep the pillows and mattresses clean.

The only highlight was telling the girls that they used to bathe in the pink bucket (taken home from the NICU) that we now use for throwing up. They thought that was hilarious.
