Pullen Park Christmas, year three

Pullen Park's holiday event is one of our favorite family traditions. Not only is the entire park decorated in Christmas lights, they have live music and Santa, and admission gets you unlimited boat, carousel, and train rides. We went last night and it was truly a magical night.

This being our third year, we had a solid plan. We got there as soon as it opened to quickly cycle through some rides without long lines. We grabbed a seat in front of the music to get food when we started to lose energy. And we went with the flow. When the boys wanted to play on the playground, we let them. When they refused to see Santa, we agreed since we saw no reason to repeat last year's fiasco. We rode the train an insane number of times and even got Alex to FINALLY sit on an animal on a carousel.

This year they had professional photographers taking photos, so hopefully more photos are coming soon. In the meantime, please vote and tell me whether you like this picture better in color or B&W. Like I said, truly magical to get them both so cooperative.

Can't decide!

And to top off the evening? I won a beer koozie from Moe's, my very first beer koozie!

I say it all the time but those boys are GORGEOUS - can I have one to marry my Kendra? :)

I like the colour photo better :)

B&W Baby! We have tickets for Sunday but with the forcast we may try for tomorrow when they open although I would expect a much bigger crowd.

Seriously, what are you running on at this point with your work deadline. LOTS of coffee???

I love koozies ... being from Louisiana we used to catch piles of them in the Mardi Gras parades... it was a genius who invented those ....haha
Now those boys ... are stunning as usual!!! Normally I am partial to black and white pics but I love that color one. You are getting so good with your camera!!!!

I vote for color, but both are great. Your first beer koozie? That's crazy! My husband and I had accumulated so many at one point that we gave them as a free gift with every purchase at our garage sale! haha

Wow Laura, what a great, great photo - both the boys smiling. That is just too awesome. I find with a really awesome pic like that it looks great in both color and B&W so my vote would be based on what you are going to use it for - framed, Christmas card? But without knowing the use, I would vote color, although I am a huge fan of B&W.

Your first beer coozie? For shame, Laura! My husband made me drag dozens with us when we moved. Ironically I use them to keep my diet cokes cold because it takes me so long to drink them :-)

The color photo pops!

I'm going with the color photo as well. The black and white is good, but I really think the red and white of the Candy canes really makes it festive. They just sort of get lost in the B&W picture.

Color!

If you want it to be a Christmas-y photo go with color so you notice the candy canes in the background. If you want to frame it for all of time, I would do the black and white.

Thanks for the comment about the pacifiers. That's really helpful!

You look so cute! I wish I had thought to send you a cute koozie for Christmas. =)

I like the B&W because you are drawn to their faces. The color is great (and my first reaction choice), but it's distracting.

Color - it shows the colors of the season and that's what's it's all about, right?

I vote for color. What a great photo and it sounds like such a fun event!

COLOR! So vibrant.

Also, your first beer koozie? Puhleeze, you live in the south. (But you should never have to pay for one, people are always giving them out as freebies.)

I got my first beer kozie in 'Why, Arizona'. Ah the memories.

I really love the color photo. I think the boys look fantastic in it.

The photo as shown is better in color, but if you were cropping it to just their faces, then black and white would be nice.

I had to laugh because it was your first beer koozie! We have enough to open a small store. And Todd brought another one home last week.
I vote for the color picture. I like how the boys are wearing red hats with the candy canes in the background.

I usually love black and white, but the colours are so perfectly wintery, I think this one deserves colour.

I vote color, because I love the color of the candycanes in the background. And congrats on the beer coozie. ha!
