The obligatory kids in leaves post

Unfortunately we have had a very wet fall, which means few opportunities to let the boys go crazy with piles of leaves. The end of last week was dry and a tree in our front yard suddenly dropped all its leaves in a few days. Jon raked them all into an enormous pile and let the boys go at it.

This picture of Nate is one of my all-time favorites. This is one of the few pictures where he has his real smile on his face. This, to me, is what he looks like in real life.

Photographing Alex was nearly impossible. He ran at full speed around the lawn, tossing as many leaves as possible. And thanks to some genius soccer coaches who do not have children, he had this lovely stamp on his forehead.

Alex is having a tough time with 3.5 - very emotional, prone to fits of unexpected crying, and ALL BOY. I only snapped a few pictures in the leaves before he destroyed the pile.

I mean really destroyed it. But you know, that is what you should do with a big pile of leaves. Go crazy.

Such good pictures. I wish we had trees to drop leaves like that. One disadvantage of living in the desert.

We had leaves like that, they just got all yucky and wet after they fell. Plus, we don't really have a yard. Bummer. Anyway, I can't believe how big and grownup your boys look! Because of his baby face and shortness, Batman looks so young still. People always ask me if he's two or two and a half. Ugh.

Yes, leaf piles are made to be destroyed. I'm glad Alex was committed to the cause. Great pictures!

These are great pictures! I made the mistake of letting my daughter stamp her face with a little stamp she got in a happy meal. Not only did the stamp not wash off, but the shape combined with the fact that it was pink made her look like she had a big bruise on her forehead.

Beautiful photos, as usual! I so wanted to get leaf photos this year b/c we have such vibrant color around here, but I got sidetracked and then it rained and its been raining ever since. Maybe next year. I have so many wonderful memories of playing in leaf piles when I was a kid. I love fall!

Ok the stamp thing? And the comment about a coach that doesn't have any kids? Hysterical! That made me laugh. The shot of nate is awesome! Yeah for fall leaves! Glad it looks like it is autumn down there (finally).
