* I'm fairly certain this parking lot where children are picked up and dropped off is not a certified NASCAR track.
* Is it really that hard to change out of your pajama pants? At least put on some sweatpants. I'm not even in a position to judge because I don't think I've showered once in 3+ years of drop offs, but I can see through that hole and it skeeves me out.
* Karma is going to get you for holding the door open for my boys to run outside without first checking with me to see if that is acceptable. Hold the door open for them to go IN? Fine. Hold the door open for them to go OUT? DUMB.
* Tantrums on sidewalk - fine. Tantrums in hallway - fine. Tantrums in classroom - fine. We've all been there. Tantrums in the parking lot taking up parking spaces - you need to pick that child up and put them somewhere else.
* When/if you have a second child, you will understand why it takes me so long to get the boys corralled and going in the same direction without resorting to physical restraints. At least you're not waiting on me to pack up and move two newborns - those parents had reason to be impatient. Seriously... put two kids in car seats or stroller, pack up 8 bottles, grab changes of clothes, review status sheets and talk to teacher about any issues with two babies... that took a LONG time. I would have been impatient. But now? Relatively fast, even for someone with two kids.
(Don't worry - a post on what things other parents must think of US is coming up!)

Wait, people actually let your boys OUT? That is insanely stupid. How can any parent miss how dangerous that is? Wow, just wow.
I want to laugh but some of it is so not laughable such as letting people's kids OUT??? Hello, brain??? Geez. I get all what your saying and have lived it too. Simply spoken, people just don't think and some really truly don't care. I did chuckle at the tantrums - they do pick the worse time and place ;)
Awesome post! Awesome title! I'll have to think about my own additions...
"I can see through that hole and it skeeves me out." LOL! This is a classic, "Laura line".
Cracking up... I have thought every one of those things. More than once!
Letting the boys out of the door is probably done by the same parents I have seen who don't have a carseat in their car?!?!
I soooooo agree with you on these! My pet peeve - those people who (with their HUGE mini-van) take up two parking spots in a very small parking lot!
My favorite are people who always park in the handicapped spaces even if there is an open regular one right next to it. Grrr. Are you really that lazy? I carry my 18+ pound daughter in her carrier. Your kid walks! Annoying.
I'm with you on the NASCAR track. What is up with parents who drive like maniacs when there are tons of kids around? Oh, and I don't shower until after drop off but I still put on jeans and try to pretend I'm human!
Here's my mean thing: if you are going to talk to your child's teacher or other parents, do not park in the pick up/drop off lane. I need to be able to pull up close to the pick up/drop off spot to get my kids and so do other parents. I have four kids to corral and I'm not going to walk them on the NASCAR track if I don't have to.
Very funny. I generally think more about what other parents think of me, so looking forward to that post. But just yesterday J started in "why Mama say 'oh that is fast'? What is fast Mama?" Because my husband has complained about one of the moms at pick up.
Oh, Laura, some days I think you live in my brain.
Fortunately, the parents at the current daycare have known us since I was lugging two carseats around, so they're terribly patient, and will often buckle one kid in while I get the other. The daycare we went to for a year? Not so much with the patient parents. Oh, and there's the mom who DROVE HER VAN INTO LUCAS while he was strapping Melody in. It's not like he's a small guy and hard to see over our sedan!
Also, with one exception, all Melly and Jessie's classmates have an older sibling, so the two (or more) kid thing is old hat to the parents.
My current peeve is this one van that waits for 15-30 minutes every morning and afternoon and REFUSES to park in a parking spot, instead preventing anyone else from entering the parking lot. You do NOT park unsafely when their may be toddlers escaping their parents' grasp.
Ha, a man at church held the door open for the boys about 6 months ago. Thank God I was paying attention b/c we weren't even ready to leave we were just standing in the lobby talking to others. I was slightly annoyed to say the least. The door opens right up to a circular drive where people drop off and pick up.
I am also laughing at the pj thing. I don't get it either. I am a SAHM and spend many a day in comfy clothes like sweats but I even throw on a pair of jeans to go out in public, come on! :)
LOL! I am with you on the PJ bottoms! We live down the street from a community collegeand just about every kid is in PJ bottoms! WTH is up with that? I wouldn't be caught outdoors in my jammies!
