Pictures, packing, prayers

PICTURES:

My blog is going on hiatus as we're leaving tomorrow for Fargo. Because of my burnout, I have been light on pictures so I thought I would share some from the boys' birthday that I forgot to put up here: the annual height measurement.

We had originally thought about doing the boys' height measurements in the house, but when we were looking for houses, we saw many houses on the market with height measurements in them :( Fortunately I found this beautiful wood height chart on clearance (!) at Pottery Barn Kids right around their first birthday.

Alex was up first and while his face looked like he was lining up for a firing squad, this was the first time he didn't go into hysterics over getting measured.

Nate was all, "It's my birthday! Take a picture of me! Measure me! Me! Me! Me!" Well he didn't say it exactly like that but it was his third birthday and that's pretty much how 3 year olds roll.

Three years old!

PACKING:

When we did the height measurements, we were not surprised to learn they had not grown much during an entire year. As they are on the short side, they still wear 2T shirts and pants. Last night I checked the weather forecast in Fargo and the average daily highs are in the low to mid 70s. While that doesn't seem so cool, that is TWENTY DEGREES cooler than our highs. And the overnight lows are about as low as we go in the winter here.

So for our summer vacation, I need to pack some fall clothes for the kids. Fortunately I still had their long-sleeved shirts in the closet and put one on Nate just to double-check it still fit. IT DID NOT FIT. I then got the pleasure of playing "fashion show" with the boys (who were NOT interested except via M&M bribes) to try on every shirt. Over half of the shirts that fit in April (!!) do not fit now.

So... Jon and I have a lot to do tonight after work. Or rather, I have to hope Jon's flight from Calgary is not delayed or else I will have a lot to do tonight.

PRAYERS:

I know a lot of you reading this post experienced infertility. My very good real-life friend Heather is doing IVF transfer today so prayers and good thoughts are appreciated! Normally I would not share this news but she publicly blogs so send some virtual hugs her way. Positive IF stories are always appreciated!

Thanks! Taking Mr. T AND the Goddess I made back when all this started in January today. One for each of my mircles I hope to stick.

I hope I can repay you someday for all the kindness and goodness you have show our family over this crazy few months.

Blessings (and a relaxing/much needed) vacation my friend.

What cuties! Have a great vacation!

(My 4 year olds are still wearing 2T shorts, so don't count the 2T's out any time soon...)

I am also not going to be prepared for how much colder it is when we go up to Maine in a few weeks. I guess my 2 years in NC have made my blood thin. But excellent point that it is 20 degrees colder. I will point that out when people make fun of me for wearing a sweatshirt when it's 70 degrees out :-)

The 2Ts make me laugh...J is the exact opposite, very tall but very slender. So his 2T's still fit his waist (especially now that we're done with diapers), but they're super short. The other day TH asked me to stop sending J out of the house with "hot pants" on:)

After seeing a picture of your husband on your blog a week or two ago I cannot believe your boys are shorties! My son is short too but will fit in some 3T shirts/pants, however... I bet when winter comes, the 3T pants will be wayyy too long. Oh well :( I LOVE that height chart, sooo nice!! Enjoy your trip!

That is the first growth chart I have ever seen that I loved! What was it called, do you remember? I must have one!

I'll miss you next week!

Awesome growth chart. And I'm having the same problem with clothes. William is just starting to fit into his 2T bottoms (he's been wearing mostly 18-24 mo. shorts this summer!), but I need 3T tops. The long-sleeve 2Ts are too short in the arms! Anyway, hopefully you'll be able to shop in peace for some shirts. And even more important, I hope you guys have an awesome and amazing and relaxing vacation. Safe travels!

We had to take an emergency shopping trip prior to our vacation to Portland a couple of weeks ago since it was THIRTY degrees WARMER! I hope you have a relaxing, fun vacation with plenty of hammock time.

Laura, I usually read you through Google Reader, so I don't always see your snazzy sidebar. Congrats on the Alltop listing! Well-deserved!
