* So You Think You Can Dance has started and it is still so much fun. The day after the performance show, I show the dances to the boys and it is a riot. They try to duplicate the (insanely complicated and advanced) steps as they watch each dance. This morning we watched the disco from last night and it was a riot. I'll be honest - we watched it four times in a row. Nate made Alex hold hands with him and spin around. Alex tried to replicate a back flip. At the end, I lifted them above my head and spun around and they thought that was the best thing ever.
It's so easy to please 3 year olds.
(Although sometimes it is impossible to please 3 year olds.)
* I am digging my iphone. I'm trying not to think of it as a cell phone but as a personal portable computer. Nate and Alex love the apps Scribble and Bubblewrap. I also like Scribble because I love drawing fake moustaches and missing teeth on my pictures.
I bought CameraBag after reading a review by Barr Babies' Lesley and it is FUN. You can apply different filters to your iphone photos to make them a little more interesting. Here's pouty Nate demonstrating the filter Helga.
Playing with this app has given me the kick in the pants that I need to start editing photos. I was hesitant to invest more time on the computer but I am really enjoying learning to take better pictures of my kids.
Anyone have other good iphone apps they would recommend for both me and the kids? Also for Jon since you know he plays with my iphone!

I am so jealous you have an iphone! We just started talking about getting them but have a year on our current contract left and I am NOT paying to end it early. Oh well!
William likes to watch movie and DVD trailers on Flixster. He also likes Bowl Lite (ski ball). And I've downloaded episodes of Backyardiagans and Martha Speaks to iTunes and he watches those a lot. And You tube videos. I've downloaded BigOven and AllRecipes for recipes, and GroceryIQ for grocery lists, although I'm not really using it a whole lot anymore. It has some issues. I also downloaded Pandora (Internet radio) but haven't really played with it. We have Fandango for movies and Urbanspoon for restaurants. But seeing as how we don't go to movies or out to eat, those don't get used much! LOL.
Have you checked out Pandora yet? You can type in a song or an artist and it creates a playlist and plays the music for you. I love it.
I also have the sudoku app on my iPhone, which sucks in a little too much of my time.
Then there is iBird, but you knew that already.
That's all I have so far. I wait until Andy messes with his apps and finds the good one's for me.
Oh, and as for my PS to my blog post yesterday...You do know that was just for you, right? ; )
There's a Wheels on the Bus app that my kids love. It's like an interactive/singing book. You can poke or drag things and they move or make noise, all the while singing wheels on the bus. And it's not super annoying. And you can change the audio to just instrumental, or to any number of languages. My kids ask for it all the time.
They also love Koi Pond, which is just a little water with koi fish in it. If you touch the screen, the water ripples and the fish swim away (and you get water noises). If you hold your finger still on the screen, eventually a fish will come "nibble" on it (the phone vibrates). You can also shake the phone and it shakes in some fish food. :-)
I am too scared to let the babies play with my iphone, you are brave!
I LOVED the Jazz and Disco routines last night!!! Maybe I'll have to let the babies watch - if I can pry them away from Curious George for 5 seconds.
Once you start editing you will be addicted. I went through the "over edit" phase where their eyes looked like aliens which was fun. Hahah. Now I try to edit more naturally while still adding "pop".
I'll be checking back to see what others use for fun apps since I don't have many.
OK, I think I need an iphone! I am so jealous :D
Bookworm is a cool and very addictive game. For Analese, I have pre-school adventure and dress up (although your boys probably wouldn't like the dress up). My personal favorite app is the Kindle app! I love reading in bed at night with the lights off. Grocery IQ is a wonderful grocery list app. I have the MacGourmet app that uses my wifi to sync with the MacGourmet program on my laptop where all of my recipes are. Weather Bug elite is a great weather app. I also like Pandora! AK Deluxe is an army knife. It turns your iphone into a flashlight. I even got the iBird yard after reading about Joanna's hilarious experience with it! Oh, and Analese loves to watch podcasts on my iPhone. Sesame Street has the best ones for kids, because they are about 8 minutes long. Dora, Diego and Blues Clues have short ones. We may have to get Analese her own iPod Touch or something (cuz we are tired of sharing our iPhones with her)!
Hi Laura, thanks for letting us know about your location change, I will still follow and check your posts out every Tuesday from now on. Best regards
