I just can't seem to get motivated to sit in front of a computer even more than I already do. I am in front of a computer 40+ hours a week for my job. Outside of work time, there are so many things competing for my time that literally the last place I want to be is with a computer.
Instead of letting these thoughts spin around and around in my brain, I've decided to come public with it. I'm publicly stating that by end of summer, I will have spent time learning to edit photos. I'll start with this one. I'm starting here not because I love this photo. I'm starting here because it was taken in fantastic lighting and I think editing could make Nate's eyes pop. It will also help me get over my whole straight-out-of-camera is good enough idea.
I'm not quite sure how I'm going to fit this in with everything else. Can I wish for more hours in a day?

There is a self-paced class in Photo editing on Jessicasprague.com
I have taken some of her classes and they are fun and help to keep me motivated. :)
If you figure out how to get more hours in the day please let me know. I tried cutting back on sleep but that hasn't gone over too well!
Please let me know what program you use. I like to edit photos but am bored with Picassa.
Good luck! I spend MANY MANY hours of the day editing while other things fall by the wayside (like my filthy floors). =)
I feel you on this one. I have the photos, I have the software. I just don't have the time.
I have been following your blog thanks to themeektwins blog. My answer is "why mess with perfection?" This picture of your son is perfect just the way he is. Do your pictures really have to look like they are from a professional photographer?? I say don't mess with what God gave ya!
I'm with you on wanting to take things to the next level. I do a very small amount of editing with the built-in tools in iPhoto. Do you have any photo editing software at the moment? Photoshop Elements is a nice way to start, since it isn't nearly as expensive as the full version. Let me know and I can walk you through the little tricks my SIL taught me that I do on almost every photo. It's a start.
And let me know if you figure out that whole "more hours in the day" thing. I could use some, for sure!
Feel exactly the same thing here. I want to get photoshop and start messing around. This is after I got a new camera that I HATE. So, I realized that it's not the camera at all. It's me. And then by asking some questions, I realized it's the editing. UGH. Good luck with more time. As you can see, I'm spending less time in front of the computer. : )
Editing is so much fun! I edit my sessions when the kids are in bed mostly. Like tonight...I am finished two sessions or about 50 photos. It took me a week. Once you have your skills it gets very easy! And a lot of fun.
You had twins, you can edit :D
