We're supposed to get another snowstorm tonight. Last night I was complaining to Jon about it since our birthdays are at the end of March. I said, "If March comes in like a lamb and out like a lion, then how bad will our birthday weekend be if it's snowing on March 1?"
Jon looked at me like I was insane and told me the saying is "In like a lion, out like a lamb." Jon declared he was right because he grew up in Fargo and has much more experience with winter weather than me. He also argued that perhaps in Florida, March does come in like a lamb, which is why I was confused and WRONG.
Obviously, this argument was going nowhere so we consulted Dr. Google. And I was wrong.
How did married couples resolve disputes before the invention of the internet?
And how lame will Nate and Alex think we are when we tell them we grew up with no internet?

Very funny. Jared and I always consult Google regarding actors. We are always saying "Hey, they were in ---" and most of the time I am wrong. Such a bummer :)
It's snowing like crazy here right now. I swear, I haven't seen snow like this since I lived in Germany, it's crazy!
I can't believe the weather! 70's one day and inches of snow the next. Hope this weather doesn't last!
The way I know it and explain it to my students is that March comes in as one (lion or lamb) and will then in turn go out as the other.
Since we might be getting 15+ inches of snow today, I guess I'm hoping the end of this month to be quiet!
Jeremy and I were just talking about the whole "in like a lion out like a lamb" saying except he'd never heard it before. Of course when we lived in Massachusetts it was a lion until the end of April so I guess it didn't count then. We are expecting up to 6 inches of snow. Thank goodness I can work from home!
So funny!
Sometimes I have trouble remembering life pre-internet!
I learned it the same way Helen says she teaches it. That if March comes in like a lion it goes out like a lamb and if it comes in like a lamb it goes out like a lion. So you're both right. Cause someone on the internet said. ;-)
That said, we use google to solve our disagreements too. Once we even called home and left a message on our own answering machine to remind us to look up xyz when we got home.
I always learned it the way Helen mentioned to- it can come in like either lion or lamb, but goes out the opposite. But, yes, what would we do without the internet? Ben and I have settled many disputes this way- mostly over who sang what song, or was in what movie. :)
Brook and I had the a similar dispute over "Feed a fever, starve a cold" or "Starve a fever, feed a cold". And like you two, Dr. Google solved the maritial dispute.
I always laugh when my office mates (they are all 20+ yrs older) come in and ask if I have a phone book they could borrow. Hello? There are twice as many computers with internet access than there are people in our office and someone is asking me for a phone book?
This totally cracked me up, thank you. When I read your first part about, what will our birthdays be like I was like, huh? What is she talking about?
