Why having twins rules, in video format

I wrote a post yesterday on HDYDI about my guilty feelings that I am sometimes too honest about being a parent and not gushy enough. I feel bad I've scared a lot of my real-life friends away from twins. While I would not wish the stressful twin pregnancy experience I had on anyone, I can't imagine anything more fun or entertaining than having multiples.

So... I thought I would post my favorite videos of Nate and Alex. These are the moments we've been able to catch on film, and we have millions more like them sitting in our hearts forever. Every day with twins is crazy and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Alex the komodo dragon at 7 months old:

Nate and Alex wrestling at 8 months old. Probably not fair to say Nate was wrestling because he couldn't crawl yet. We're still not sure how we missed the signs that Alex would be an instigator.

The boys playing around the kitchen island, roughly a year old.

Bathtime fun, roughly 15 months old

The first chases, 17 months old

And who can forget popscicles at 22 months old?

I think it's great that you are very honest about what it's like to be the parent of twins. It's important for people to know the truth, and I think it's important for you to be so accepting of the whole thing.

Plus, you could rant and rave through an entire post about how horrible it all is and say terrifying things and the moment you post a picture of the two crazies, we would all still just go "aw...she is so lucky."

You're gonna have to get one of them e-book things for printing out this part of the blog - that or some special paper from Hogwarts :)

Those are SO SO SO cute! My favorite is the popsicle! I have video of my boys wrestling, laughing, crawling around chasing each other and bath time. And honestly reading this post is the first time I've actually had the conscious thought that not every parent has these memories with their baby, because just one isn't like this. It's crazy how twins become "normal" if you have them...

Big smiles at the videos. Just what I needed today! Please don't censor yourself for me or anyone who knows you IRL or Blogworld.

I appreciate honesty but also knowing that of all friends to have twins the one who checks out the stats, reviews, and the MO of whatever from nuts to behavior it's you.

Thanks for sharing...love the videos! I think I've done the same thing with my friends to some extent...made my life with twins sound a bit crazy. But, I really wouldn't change it for the world and life is certainly never dull! As you know! :-)

I think it's really great you are honest. I am the opposite because I'm always second-guessing myself as a mother, wondering if I'm good enough for the babies and so it would be a big step to admit that it is hard mothering twins. I have a close friend who also has a friend who recently had twin daughters. She had such an easy pregnancy (unlike mine); her girls were both over 7lbs each. Mine were 4.5lbs at birth. So, hearing about how laid back her friend is and how the babies are such a cinch doesn't help. It's nice to read stories like yours where you are a wonderful mother but you're human, too. :) You wouldn't be doing anyone any favors by hiding the truth; besides, they also hear about all the wonderful things, too!

I LOVE all the videos but the one of the popsicles is my absolute favorite; they are sooo cute!
