Playing with washable markers

As I mentioned earlier, on Wednesday night, I let the boys draw all over themselves and each other with washable markers. They loved it. I also set up a mirror in the playroom so they could check themselves out. That was as entertaining to them as drawing on each other's backs.

I would not recommend this as an indoor activity! The washable marker did not adhere well to their bodies, so when they rubbed up against something, the marker came off. Because it was starting to get messy, I put them in the tub early. And I found out what happens when you screw with your schedule - poop in the tub!
It was all worth it. I can't even tell you how much joy they found in going TO TOWN with the markers. I should have taken a picture of Alex's feet because he made the effort to completely color each and every single little toe. And when he saw the marker on his chin, he tried to draw all over his entire face.
This experience was just as much fun for me as it was for them. And now it has me thinking about doing a messy party for their birthday!

Oh fun! And this is also a great way to teach the kids how to wash well when they're older. Let them color on themselves, and then put them in the bath with soap and a washcloth and let them scrub themselves off.

Good luck trying to prevent this every time the markers come out! My husband loves to draw moustaches on the girls and now they think they can draw them on each other because, "Mom, they're washable!"

You are such a fun mom. Can I come over and play at your house?

That is hilarious! I love it! A good messy activity is great. I always say, if they get messy (or wet or whatever), they can always get clean again.

I can't believe how old the boys are looking these days! They are growing to be quite the handsome boys.

Whoah! You are one cool mom! I honestly don't think I'll be able to live up to this kind of coolness when I am flying solo (like I will be in 2 weeks when Brook goes on Mancation v4.0).

I hope that Jon appreciates your level of coolness?

P.S. Would Jon do something like this when you were gone?

Oh what fun! I was anticipating the pictures. I'd have the same mindset as Maria. Her comment is the exact reason I haven't bought soap crayons for the tub. I fear it'll end up on all the walls. LOL
Your boys look so cute. I can just hear their giggles in my head.

Oh my gosh, you must frame that picture!! Beyond cute. I am totally going to try that when my girls are a bit older. I would have flipped to cover my sibs with markers as a kiddo. I think my Mom would have had a coronary though. But I'm in charge now- he he he...

The boys look like they had a great time. Michael probably wouldn't even let me do that because he hates to be dirty!
