Jon and I were afraid to say this out loud while we were in the midst of traveling, but now that we are safe at home I can shout it to the rooftops. The Thanksgiving trip to Florida was SO EASY!!! The boys were incredibly easy to travel with. The two 14 hour days in the car went SO smoothly. Jon and I are still in shock.
I've got many thoughts on what was successful, what was not successful, and what a great trip it was that I will share later in the week. For now, here are my two favorite pictures of the boys from the trip.

Glad it went well! It was super warm where we were too, but we didn't make it to the beach.

We were also pleasantly surprised when we went on our 12-hour car trip a few months ago. J did incredibly well and I actually think there was less stress with the road trip than when we have flown with him. Maybe it's being able to stop whenever you need to and not having to deal with other people?
We bought Polar Express this weekend and I can't believe how entranced J was by that movie. I've never seen him watch a movie (almost) from beginning to end.
I am so glad the trip went well and that the boys enjoyed themselves. I can only imagine that it made it that much easier for the both of you.
So glad the trip went well. Let me know how some of the new gagets helped as we are always in the market for keeping ben happy in the car.

Yeehaw! I can't wait to read about you guys pulling off a 14-hour car ride. We can't even manage a 15 minute one without some balking. We're heading to Portland for Christmas and F & R will have to hang in the car for longer stints.

Ohhhhhh that is SO awesome!! What a relief I am sure. And it's true - you want to say NOTHING while you are still in the midst, but now you guys can have a celebratory glass of wine. Successful trip attributed to some supremely successful parenting!
