I've made it clear Nate loves to talk. The kid is never quiet. His constant narration is very useful in certain situations, like when he's tells us he's going upstairs when he is not supposed to do so or when he tattles on himself by telling us he pushed or bit Alex. Lately, he finds himself running out of things to talk about so he sings instead.
Sunday we had to make a trip to the mall for an item necessary for our Labor Day trip. Nate wanted to see the fountains outside, so I took him by himself while Jon stayed with Alex at the play area. When we got outside, Nate asked to sit on the side of the fountain. He sat there quietly watching people walk past and eating his crackers.
After 15 minutes of silently sitting together, I asked Nate if he liked watching people. He said, "Yes, I yike people watching." then proceeded to quietly sit there until Alex and Jon joined us.
Every time I think I know these little guys, they do something to completely surprise me.

Oh my god, that is entirely too cute.
Okay, that is just awesome. Love it!
Yay for some quiet time with Nate. I have the same issue with Michael. Every so often we find ourselves just still together quietly. it's really nice.
I "yove" that post. TOO cute! Special for you to have these individual moments with just one.
I can't wait for my boys to be old enough to have those special one-on-one moments. I hope at least one of them will "yove people watching" as much as I do. (My daughter also replaces her "L"s with "Y"s ... SO cute!)
I'm surprised when I hear people proclaiming the need for twins to develop their individuality. I really think they do no matter what. Each little person is so unique - in the way they see the world, if not in the way the world sees them.
