With a tall husband, I had hopes one of the boys would be tall. Nope. Their two year stats predicted they would both be 5'10"... 6 inches shorter than Jon. They're shorties. Most of the 18 month pants still fit Alex!
Jon has always assured me he was not a tall child, and his height is due to an amazing growth spurt in his teens. He grew 6 inches in one summer, growing from 5'9" to 6'3". He has stretch marks on his knees from growing so quickly. I clung to the hope that one day, the boys would magically shoot up, be TALL, and beat all the predictions.
Jon's baby book arrived in the mail this week. At 2 years old, he was over 3 feet tall. Double that and you get 6+ feet. Boo hoo, my boys are going to be shorties! No boys going to Duke or UNC on full scholarships :(
One item in the baby book did make me feel better. Both Alex and Jon have lots of thick hair. I also cling to the hope one of them will get Jon's hair. Jon's mom noted Jon had three haircuts by the age of 16 months. Here's Jon at one year old:
Yep, that hair would be exactly like Alex's hair. For comparison, here's Alex at 10 months right before his first haircut:

The only reason we hadn't cut his hair yet was because he had his helmet on. He's had a haircut almost every month since then because his hair so quickly gets thick and out of control.
But what about Nate's hair, you ask? I have very thick dark brown curly hair. Nate's hair is straight, fine, and blond. I answered this mystery on my last visit to Florida. Here's me (on the right) at 3 years old. Look familiar?

I grew up in a house where we kept pencils on the top of door frames, so the phone book on the fridge is no surprise.
That's wonderful that you have Jon's baby book. It must be so neat to be able to compare the boys to his stats.
LOL about where the blonde hair came from.
It's truly amazing to me how your boys look like each of you. Very cool!
Off topic - I bought "Twilight" last night based solely on the fact that you and Bridget have mentioned it lately. Is that weird?
I agree with Lindsay - amazing that you birthed a couple of dopplegangers. It will be interesting to see if they continue to look just like mom and dad as they grow and grow and grow.
By the way, have you seen this yet?

I love the comparison pics! Talk about resemblance. I keep meaning to ask my mom and my mother-in-law for some baby pictures of me and M so I can scan them and look for similarities... we'll see.
I love the old pics. Very cool. My DH had that same little scooter that Jon is riding in his pic. His mom saved it and now the kids are enjoying riding it...although getting a little too big for it now.
If your kitchen cabinets are anything like mine, there is next to nothing on the top shelf that I need to get to anytime soon, and certainly not without a stepladder. :)
