I do not heart insurance companies

After an insane number of appeals, phone conversations, and letters, our insurance company denied coverage for Alex's helmet. This was the final appeal, it even went to an appeal committee hearing that I attended while on vacation. I don't care about the money, it's the principle that angers me. How can I have a great job with good insurance that would still leave my child permanently disfigured?

In the end, it doesn't matter. We did the right thing. I would pay any amount of money to have Alex's face and head look normal. $3000 seems like a trivial amount of money to do right by my sweet pea, my little toddler who gets into everything.

Sounds like it's time to follow up with the NC dept of insurance.
